I have two cats, and let me tell you, the smell was absolutely terrible. But then I tried this product, and I was blown away! The odor control is incredible. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to freshen up their home.
I have been using this my entire life for my cats. I recently tried Special kitty It works just as well, but the dust is not good. There is indeed a dust factor with special kitty that Tidy Cats does not have, still I recommend giving special kitty a chance. It does clump better than Tidy Cats. Catlady, out.
I originally bought this as a mistake. I was ordering online, didn't pay enough attention because usually I buy the clumping cat litter, and when the guy showed up with my delivery I realized oops, I made a mistake and this is nonclumping, but since I was out of litter, I went ahead and used it. I quickly discovered that I preferred this over the clumping cat litter because I can just leave this in litter box all week and then dump the whole thing instead of scooping it out and risk having little pieces of urine fall back in so the cat litter still stinks. From now on, I am going to stick to this cat litter, and I highly recommend it!!!
This is the old standard in cat litter. It is just what works best for us and our cat. We use 12lbs at a time and dip out clumps every other day. Our litter pan is in the garage and cat uses doggie door to access. We can litter about every 4 or 5 days. 48 lb bag allows us about 3 or 4 weeks. Order from Walmart and pickup outside....so no touch pickup. I pour into 2 gallon pails with lids. Works well for us.
I accidentally got this instead of the clumping cat litter, like I usually get. But, if you don't use clumping cat litter, I would recommend this. It has a scent that isn't too strong and works well at keeping oders at bay. It wasn't too dusty, and my cats didn't mind the change in product. They didn't track much of it around the house, but does need to be changed frequently, it didn't stick to the litter boxes too much, it was easy to scrape out with the litter scoop.
I breed hybrid cats and have doing so for 15 years. We go through this 48 lbs bag (like this) every 2-3 DAYS! I'd used forever “clumping litter” bc I thought it saved money though it was more expensive than non clumping simply bc the only thing to scoop out was the ball that was the product of their pee and poop. I WAS SO WRONG. If we're keeping it 100, THIS BRAND gives off A TON OF DUST both when you pour it from the bag to top off your litter-box as well as when you scoop BUT, a GOOD BUTT, if you have a multicast household like us with 13 adults, YOU CANT BEAT THE PRICE and the dust is far from the end of the world or a deterrent from continuing its use. It's very basic clay like litter which is EXACTLY what cat litter originated from and serves its purpose. It's scent free WHICH IS WHAT ALL LITTER is SUPPOSED TO BE. Do your research, the scented litter is for HUMAN comfort / convenience and not for the cat's benefit . They have sensitive noses, it's often the reason why your feline fluff ball will poop either right outside the box or in random areas around the home that ARENT FOR COLLECTING CATWASTE. This litter does the job, is absolutely affordable and overall a great buy. We purchase 3-4 bags of this every week!!!!
it's cheap it's effective not the super cheap stuff but it has a scent to it but man is heavy so if you're weak this is not the one to buy but if you want save money I recommend getting it I buy in the big bags and put it right next to the cat litter box
I'M HEARTBROKEN WALMART doesn't carry this in stock anymore!!! please bring it back.!!! sometimes you can order it, but I rarely order much, so it's inconvenient. I generally buy it right when I need it also... This is a good buy for the $$$. Fairly low dust. Good odor control. I find NONCLUMPING easier for multiple cats. But it's getting harder and harder to find NONCLUMPING. I just don't want to sift every day....yuck ! Take note: The bag is heavy! PS I recommend HIGHLY! : stainless steel litter boxes, fit to size of cats. I found some here at Walmart ( ordered) under $40. These look like they will last forever and No odors!
If you are on a budget this litter would be a great deal but it doesn't clump and it falls apart when you lift it out of the litter pan. I don't like the odor and I try to keep it clean and wash the pans so my cat doesn't get sick. I just wished they had a 38 lbs of this litter in clumping, and low dust. It's not good on my fibrosis. I love the price!!!!
I ordered this cat litter because I had previously ordered Tidy Cats 24/7 in a plastic tub. I thought this bag was the same thing because the logo and coloring are identical. It was only after I got it that I realized it was Non-clumping. I don't understand why anyone would want a non-clumping cat litter. However, if it is a different product than the clumping kind, it should be more easily identified on the packaging. It's not that easy to read when you are ordering online. I thought the price difference was because it was in a bigger bag vs. a plastic bin. I find it to be unsatisfactory because since the litter does not clump, the urine cannot be scooped out. It leaves the litter box smelling of urine even after cleaning and the litter itself remains dirty unless you dump the whole thing and start over. I will NOT be buying this litter again and I would not recommend it unless you have a compelling reason to use non-clumping litter.
