A 6 pack boxes of the Mega size Life cereal for $28 is such an awesome sale. we all know how ridiculously expensive food, especially cereal has become. I thought the 6 pack was of the regular size boxes which i had already found a good deal. BUT when they got here and I saw they were the mega size. AMAZING DEAL! Highly recommended.
Was always a chicken rice o Roni guy, but for taco night.. our kids want beef flavor. This one is so easy to eat we rarely have left overs, which isn't good because the tacos become our lunch the next day. Between this, chicken, and Spanish, for some reason this cooks more consistently.
I just love this cereal. I have been eating this cereal since I was a child. You can taste the cinnamon as you crunch away on these little wheat squares perfect morning.
I got 6 Mega boxes for $5.98
I have been buying this rice for decades. Not so much as a side dish, which is good, but to make a meal out of. Ever since my kids were little, and I'm a grandma now, I have made this with scrambled hamburger and peas for a meal. Scrambled hamburger has always been the best cost-effective meals (until recently) and I used to make a lot of them. My kids loved it and now they make it for their own kids. I still make it for myself and it easily freezes in individual containers to heat up for a future meals. Love it!
This product is super salty. If you just make it to eat as a side dish, it's almost inedible. That being said, I use it to make "porcupine balls" and it's delicious. Mix the pasta/rice with one pound of ground beef, along with an egg to bind it. Then, make golf-ball sized meatballs and brown on all sides. Then, mix the seasoning packet with two cups of hot water and add it to the pan with the meatballs. bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer (covered) for about 30 minutes or until the rice is tender (you'll see it plump up). Serve over mashed potatoes with the remaining au jus. You can also thicken the au jus to make a gravy if you want, but I like the au jus the way it is. Using two cups of water helps cut the saltiness down and it is amazing!
I love this cereal., but the math is off. It's posted $3.98/box, but at 15.8¢ per ounce, or $.158. .158x18=2.844. This product has two separate prices listed. I didn't question it before because, not being able to do math equations off the top of my head, and obviously being a better deal than the bigger box, I just went for it. but I was trying to teach somebody, a younger guy, how to find out if something is a deal based on its price per unit and was using the cereals a prime example. I was shocked when I did the math: that's over a dollar difference, and while a dollar isn't much, I am below the poverty line by three or more of those per month. what else am I buying from Walmart that has been over-priced?
Walmart is getting sloppy when it comes to packing and shipping items. This is the second time I've had cereal put in the same box as something heavy so this box of Life was crushed.
this was the 3rd box i bought that had little black bugs in it. you dudnt see them until u poured milk in it
I haven't had Life in a very long time but had a bit of nostalgia from my childhood and started craving it. Needless to say, it will be just that, childhood memories. It is nothing like how it used to be. The granules of sugar/cinnamon used to be on the cereal so originally I thought I bought the wrong kind. Upon further research I found I'm not the only one with this experience and that it is indeed the correct type of Life cereal. I was left fully disappointed with nothing besides money down the drain and something to add to my trash. Do better Quaker Oats.
