I use this whole grain cereal for breakfast everyday. Because I am handicapped, it is very difficult for me to buy this, and get it home. Your online option to purchase is so greatly appreciated. It means I don't have to beg for someone else to take time out of their busy schedule to help me. Thank You!
I love oatmeal and this tastes of oats, and crunchy almonds. Love before bedtime for a comforting, enjoyable treat, that dosen't upset my stomach or cause heartburn after I take my medications, and lets me get a good nights sleep.
Quanty and quality for the money is great. Most of all, it tastes REALLY good, I love it in cereal, yogurt and dessert and as snack!! had almonds and granola perfect snack when I am hungry at work!!! More than I expected. I love the crunch too
Coconut or coconut oil isn't listed, but it has such a strong coconut flavor and it's listed as an allergen (of that's an issue for you). It's basically coconut flavor since it's all I taste even mixed into yogurt.
Many years ago, I bought Quaker 100% Natural Cereal, one of the first granolas in the 1970's, and it had a recipe for apricot squares on the box, which I cut off and still have. I made them many times in those years. I loved them and finally yesterday googled if Quaker 100% Natural Cereal still existed since I hadn't seen it on the shelves for years. The search said that Quaker 100% Natural Cereal was now called "Simply Granola", so I went to the store and bought a box with oats, honey, and almonds. I came home and used your recipe from the '70's, and I was very disappointed. The squares tasted bitter, and it wasn't overcome by 1/3 cup of brown sugar in the recipe. I then tried a little of the cereal that I had not put in the crust, and it was bitter as well, so it is definitely the cereal, not the fruit filling. You might want to look into correcting this. Something is wrong, and I see a lot of bad reviews here for the Simply Granola. Also, please ask your Kitchen Dept to put out the apricot squares recipe again, online or on a box, when they get the problem with the crust, the cereal's bitterness, corrected. Thank you.
When I got it the box was not the same looking. Not sure if it changed or if I got the right thing, however the box read the same. It was not as crispy as before, more of a mealy feel in my mouth, like maybe it was old. I like to add it to yogurt and trail mix. I will buy it again in hopes that it was just a one off and most of the time Walmart ships items that are great.
No one in our house likes this. We are not new to good granola and I thought we would try a different brand just to have something new. It has an old frying oil smell to it and the almonds taste either old or scorched when toasted. It tastes just as strange.
What is this burnt, awful cereal? What have you done to a once tasty cereal?
I've always loved the honey and almond flavored products. So naturally, I bought this honey and almonds cereal thinking it was going to be delicious with the granola consistency. But when I took a bite, it tasted awful. I couldn't figure out what the new flavor was that was ruining the taste, so I looked in the ingredients and saw coconut!! Coconut is a very prominent flavor, even with a little bit added, it changes the flavor. Neither the front or the back of the box says anything about coconut, so it's super easy to assume that the flavors are only oats, honey and almonds. If someone who's allergic to coconut decided to buy this, they'd be in for a big surprise! I can't handle the flavor of coconut, so this cereal completely grossed me out. If you guys are going to put coconut in your food product, you need to advertise it on the box instead of hiding it in the ingredients label. Iwas super excited to try this, but now I'm highly disappointed.
While I like the flavor of Simply Granola I find that it gives me painful gas. I was disappointed to find inulin as an ingredient. The box touts "NO ARTIFICIAL FLAVORS OR ADDED COLORS". It also claims "EXCELLENT SOURCE OF FIBER" but does not mention "Fiber Added", so I feel that I was misled. I expect the fiber to come from the main ingredients, not added as a powder just to boost the fiber content. If I wanted "prebiotic" inulin powder in my cereal I would add it myself. But I DON'T WANT IT. I will be getting some other granola in the future or making my own.
