I received this product in exchange for an honest review. I brought this simple and quick card game on our vacation and decided to play one morning with my kids. One of my kids, who is 8 yrs old, has some difficulty with spelling and I think this is exactly what she needs in order to improve her reading, spelling, and vocabulary skills. With score keeping, I made my kids do their own math to tally their score. We counted up the points for each round's word(s), add the bonus if earned, then subtract any points for the cards that may be in our hand if we couldn't "go out." This also reminded my kids to be patient if they they wound up with zero points at the end of the round. Overall, this was an excellent game to bring on our vacation. Helps keep us busy during down time when we're hanging out in our cabin.
I received this product in exchange for an honest review. We enjoyed this game. We especially enjoyed that you play it with as few as two people. It's often hard to find fun games that only two people can play. The bonus categories made it an extra fun challenge. This is a great game to add to any family or friend game night rotation.
My husband and I play this game every night after dinner and love it! It's the secret to a happy marriage (as long as I let him win once in awhile.).
As a retired teacher of English and foreign languages, I often gift this word -creating card game to the children of friends and relatives. Children can look up possible words in the dictionary when needed. In the meantime, they are learning vocabulary, spelling, and most of all strategy. The game is wonderful fun for adults as well!
I received this game in exchange for an honest review. This game was a huge hit with my 11 year old and myself! We love playing scrabble together so I thought this would be fun. It really was! The goal is to get the most amount of points by getting high point words using all of the cards in your hand. Each hand increases the number of cards by one. You can try to do really hard words. Or keep them simpler for younger kids. If you like word games, you'll love this one!
Me and my son just received this game, we played a full game to get the hang of it. We're confident the rest of the family will enjoy this one. Two decks of cards, we were always able to end a round fast, probably too fast (my son kept going out, thank goodness you don't lose points for leftover cards in your hands). We'll be playing this one again, a good friend/family game, plays fast, and considering you can spell multiple words, it's really easy to get a bunch of 2 and 3 letter words to go out fast. We're going to have to track down a small dictionary to keep with the game.
We were gifted this to try out and I'm so glad because this is such a fun family game. The game seems so simple, take some cards and make some words, but once you hit five cards it is much harder then you think!! My older son and husband had a blast with this and really got into who could make the longer word. My 8 year old had some trouble but l loved that this incorporated learning into our family game night. Though it makes you think, it is still fun!! I do recommend keeping a dictionary on hand for this though!! My only suggestion as many other have had, is to remake the size of the letters on the cards. The middle images are hard to decipher on some letters and if anyone is hard of seeing the corner letters are rather small. Other than that though I can see this being a nice rotation for family nights.
Quiddler is not like any other game our family played before. It comes with 118 cards and instructions printed or can be scanned via QR code and see video instructions. It's for 8 plus and it gave my husband and I a great opportunity to spend quality time with our oldest son and a great game to play with our youngest boys when they get older. For now, we've really enjoyed to play with our 4th grader. Each person gets a certain amount of cards and each person creates a word out of those cards. At the end, I kept a tally which word who came up with and how many points each person had (not only great for vocabulary building for kids but counting math!). Exactly what we needed for our oldest son and he enjoyed playing this!! Easy to play, and good family night game. I received this in exchange for my honest review.
We were introduced to this game by some friends while on vacation. It was fun and challenging, even for people without big vocabularies. It doesn't require knowledge of weird words like you need for Scrabble. You get points for the most words from a single hand, or the longest word, so you can make a bunch of small words and still win. Good for kids and adults. You will need to hold 11 cards, so if you have arthritis or for kids with small hands, you may want to use a card-holder of some type.
It can be a big aid for youth learning vocabulary and how to spell, as well as for older minds that need to be kept sharpened.
