This RainX windshield cleaner winter formula is definitely a better choice for below freezing weather. It actually helps to start melting the ice on your windshield, while you are warming up your car and trying to clear the frosty windshield with your heater and wipers. It clears the windshield faster, so you can use less of it, and get going sooner and safer. It also is much less likely to freeze up inside the storage tank or wiper sprayer system, it protects that whole system from freeze damage. I used to have to add rubbing alcohol to my regular windshield fluid, and it would still get slushy on very cold days, and was not convenient. It still has the nice water shedding quality of regular RainX summer formula.
Though it's price is higher than some others this one the quality is unmatched!!! Whenever I use a different brand I miss the Rain-X. It makes driving so much easier especially if you pair it with the other Rain-X windshield products because the precipitation just beads up and rolls off the car making it SO MUCH EASIER TO DRIVE!!! I only use Rain-X on my windshield including my Windshield wiper fluid because it really does make THAT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE!!! This stuff even helps melt snow and ice off your windshield faster in the winter!!!
ok so I live in a place where winter fully has beef with humanity, and this washer fluid is basically my peace treaty. like… -30°?? and it STILL works?? that's actually kinda insane. windshield ice usually turns my car into a frosted survival game but this stuff melts it down fast like it's nothing. spray it, wipe it, boom—visibility restored. I'm not squinting through frozen chaos anymore like I'm on a bad road trip arc. 5 stars. winter tried it and got folded ❄️💀
in my personal opinion you can't ever go wrong with rain x wiper fluid, after a use the water jus beads up and rolls off the windshield..I don't after worry bout it freezing either.
I've been using Rain-Ex every Winter for at least 15 years because it really helps get the ice off my wiper blades. I think the previous formula (orange colored) worked much better on the ice build up than the current purple stuff, but the new version is still pretty good. It's expensive, so I only use it from December to March.
With all of this snow, ice, and salt all over my car I am constantly having to clean my windshield. This is a great value for something I basically use everyday in the winter. It gets the job done so I can see while drive and I can afford to use as much as I need.
Keep it inside and warm to use as a long-lasting, versatile tool in northern states to thaw doors, locks, and windows, and to pour over ice-covered windshield wipers. Very cost-effective and a quick, safe method to quickly get back on the road again without harming the glass or body paint.Thaws
Best windshield washer fluid I've used so far! Our temps here in MI have been under 30 degrees for weeks, and my windshield hasn't frosted over since I've been using this! I also notice that my windshield is much clearer and cleaner! A definite great buy!
I just found out you can get windshield wiper fluid with de-icer in it and it was a game changer this winter. Even mixed in with my half tank of non-de-icer fluid. Highly recommend this one. No issues at all. Practically a pleasant winter driving experience, despite the road conditions.
it was the only product offered that would not freeze in my car in Wisconsin. so I didn't have a cheaper alternative. it is expensive but my windshield washer system did not freeze in my car.
