Used to replace magnavox dtc remote. Button size and response is great. Also used for TV. Nice thing about this is that I don't have to switch between TV and DTC modes. If I leave it in dtc mode it knows to change channels on the dtc but knows to change the TV volume if I use the volume buttons. It is missing a couple functions that the old dtc remote had (still picture, signal strength, channel info) but the improved button response more than makes up for this.
It does the job for old my Emerson TV, and it has the input button for those who were wondering if it has one, so you can select AUX1, AUX2, etc in your tv (I use mine to play videogames).
VERY GENERIC ----ITS PERFECT AND WORKS GREAT ! VERY EASY TO SET UP ! DUMBED DOWN FOR TECHY CHALLENGED PEEPS LIKE ME ! ALSO LIKE THE LARGE KEYS SINCE IM BLIND AS A BAT.
What can I say? This remote does what it says it can. Biggest problem with other "universal remotes" was NO Menu button. That's the only way to access sleep timer on my old TV. This remote works! Easy to set up - 5 minutes maybe.
Very easy to program. They only wanted a basic remote with sleep timer and this was perfect. Bought 2 so they each had one since the price was so good.
Bought for a replacement for clumsy TCL TV remote. The TCL codes were not listed, but I was able to program with code search. Good buy at a very reasonable price.
So far, this remote has functioned as advertised. The instructions are very clear, and very easy to follow. It worked the first time I tried it with the correct code on both a television and a dvd player. The codes are included in the instruction sheet. I entered them manually, so I can't speak to the automatic finding of the codes, but the list is pretty extensive for the manual mode. The only thing I haven't been able to get it to do with the dvd player is to eject and/or close....I don't think it has this function, at least not one that is obvious. This is the only reason that I rated it 4 instead of 5 on overall rating and on meeting expectations. There may be a way, but I haven't found it yet. Also, you will need to provide your own AAA batteries (2), as none come with the remote. These are fairly minor things, however. The various keys are distinct and easy to read and understand without the help of the instruction sheet. All in all, it seems well worth the money. Only time will tell if it will hold up to heavy usage. If it does, it is truly a good bargain.
This remote control was very easy to set up, just look at the list of TV brands that come with it, select yours and enter the number in and that's it. Couldn't be more simple to use. I am only using the TV function as I do not own a DVD player. I have a DVR. This remote does not work for DVR's. For those of you that have cut the cable cord and are using an HD antenna, it does work well for HD channels which are those channels that have fraction numbers like 10.2 etc. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is that occasionally I have to re-enter the channel number twice. Not sure if I am just not pointing it just so or if it is something with the remote function. Overall I am very happy with it and would recommend it for anyone wanting a nice easy remote in a handy smaller size.
For $5 this remote is excellent. The only nuisance for me was having my Apple TV learn it. This remote needs a product number to set keypad, with much trial and error finally got one of the HD TV Box codes to work. Would not program up, down, or sides to apple. Had to use the number keys (used 1,2,3,5 for arrows, 4 for select and 6 for menu). I could have the Apple learn my DVD player remote without a hitch so definitely this multi remote issue. Other than that the code for TV and code for DVD player worked perfectly. It's nice to have everything on one remote and a remote larger than an Apple's so it's not constantly lost.
was wrong one wanted different one now got one need don't order wrong one but they said didn't
