I bough 3 of this kind of tablet with keyboard for Christmas gif for my 3 nephews (kids) 4,5& 6 years old, if it's cheap RCA you know it will not last or will freeze a lot. To my surprise it's a good tablet for the price I paid. My nephews downloaded all kinds of games, good pictures good quality and good sound. I'm getting 2 more.
I purchased this for my elderly father along with an Amazon Fire Stick. He has an old flip phone and I was unsure about using apps for the Fire on his MacBook. He has various mobility and circulation issues resulting in shaky, cold hands. Though this does require touch screen use my Dad hasn't had a problem with that, he says the screen is sensitive even to his cold hands. The keyboard being attached is just genius. Now he uses it for his Gmail, to use Wikipedia, IMDB, etc. Saves him the trek to his laptop which he keeps in his office. He's happy, which makes me happy. Being that it's an Android here's fingers crossed it can be updated successfully for a few years. Highly recommended for anyone with mobility issues in their hands, or big clumsy fingers! :-)
The RCA Voyager 7" is easy to use and versatile. The keyboard case allows for school work t be completed with ease and doubles as a stand if the user wishes to watch Netflix or some other streaming program. Not bad. Just add a micro SD card and you have a small but powerful laptop.
Pros--Very fast Intel Atom Sofia processor (too bad Intel stopped making these in June 2015). Six hour battery life and very sharp screen. Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Takes a 32 GB SD card and has 16 GB internal storage. Excellent value at only $41 (when I bought it, it is now $49). Cons--Uses a RCA proprietary plug for the charger instead of the standard USB plug. No camera facing away from the user so not OK for the family photos and the self-facing camera is only 1 megapixel.
Didn't know what to expect when ordered. Does what it claims and for the price is a nice deal. Some of the selling points for me were the cost and the keyboard. Another plus is that while it has a non standard recharger that you expect from a tablet, it still allows you to use a usb. I have been using several Samsung tablets and the rca doesn't have the screen sensitivity or smoothness. Also, the res is not as sharp. Another thing that I in didn't think was a big deal, but later on realize it is a slight inconvenience is that there is no back facing camera. Also battery goes pretty quickly so having the recharger/external battery might come in handy. If the tablet were more expensive would have been overpriced. However, overall for the price, not a bad deal.
The screen is nice. The keyboard and touch screen work good. The battery life is short. Daily recharging is required. It may be the due to google's synchronizing its app data. Trying shutting off wifi when not in use to see if that helps. I guess I could turn it off instead of having it sleep between uses.
Works great for professional audio control softwares on a budget (remote control for digital audio mix consoles, whether engineer or musician). Churches who use the Behringer X32 may want to consider this device for use as a personal monitor mixer for musicians (with Android app "Mixing Station Pro"). Screen brightness is good for indoors, but not acceptable for outdoor daylight. Screen resolution is fairly poor, but this is only a problem for photo & video -- not a problem for graphics (e.g. control softwares). Screen resolution is what I expected at this price (pixels are far apart, causing slightly visible gaps between them, creating a slightly visible grid instead of a smooth/rich picture, also reducing brightness due to black space). Due to slightly slow processor, it is best to use this device as an "appliance": Uninstall/disable all apps and features which are not necessary, then install the control softwares that you need. I have had 0 problems with processor speed or RAM when operating control software.
I love this tablet, received this in December been on it every since! I use it mostly for writing, reading, and surfing, not much of a gamer, but I have played games on it. Some of the games only play in a vertical position, so it doesn't maneuver as it should like the tablet screen does. The 7in screen and the keyboard is perfect size to fit in my pocketbook. I thought I was going to have a difficult time using the small keyboard, but, its perfect, especially, if laid on a sturdy surface it works just as good as a laptop. The quality to me is great, I will purchase again. My only issue is finding out about the exact expandable memory; it says it goes up to 128 with micro SD card, but the couple of reviews I read differ saying up to 32 or 64, not sure how true it is. But one of my purpose of purchasing was the expandable memory, which is why I rated good...I will contact the RCA company and see what they have to say. Stay tune I may have more to say about it in the future.
This was purchased is for a family member just wanting something small and compact to use instead of using her phone for everything, plus a keyboard. I did take it out of the box and booted it up to see how it preformed. Like the title says, you get what you pay for. Resolution is poor, setting screen brightness would only really work well inside , or if outside in a nice shaded area. Don't expect anything for speaker quality, as with most tablets or laptops. It only has a single rear firing speaker, so BT or headphones would be optimal. Keyboard, for the size, wasn't that bad. Getting the tablet out of the case felt like I might crack the case because it does fit very tight. Overall, if you are looking for a economical tablet/keyboard case, then this will do the trick. Basic use will be all you will get out of this, but that is all she wants. Boot up time is average. I said yes to recommending this to a friend only if they would want a compact tablet with a keyboard for surfing the web, email, etc...
Sorta nice, but has some issues. No rear camera, which some apps seem to require to do some things; e.g., the price checking and receipt scanning functions of the Walmart app. The screen distorts images slightly. In horizontal orientation, things are slightly short, and in vertical orientation, things are just a tad tall. The horizontal and vertical DPI seem to be just a couple percent different. No way to adjust the color temperature setting, so everything looks a bit bluer than I'd like it to be. Both these issues could probably be fixed if there was some means of calibrating the display. The keyboard is unreliable, and you will likely need to request a replacement, seems to be due to a part in the hinge area. Additionally the keyboard doesn't include some function keys found on a full keyboard, and provides no key combinations to duplicate them. If you need to hit something like F7, for some reason, then you're out of luck. Sound from the built in speaker is somewhat tinny, and due to being a single speaker, is in mono. The camera seems to be in an odd position, and I can't adjust that. To appear to be looking straight on, I must actually look somewhat to the right. It has no flash, so you have to provide your own lighting.
