Tasty emergency meals

Sophia May 2, 2025

This is a great option for shelf-stable emergency food! The meal I tried (Stroganoff) had a nice, rich flavor, even though it was a bit salty. I appreciate that you can make it with or without hot water, since resources may be limited during an emergency.

Essential Item

Justine March 12, 2025

I absolutely love this ReadyWise Emergency Food Supply Ready Grab Bag! It is truly an enormous amount of food. The bag alone is incredibly heavy. There are 8-12 total servings of each food item and there are 7 different food items. The Cheesy Macaroni, Savory Stroganoff, and Potatoes and Chicken Flavored Pot Pie all sound the best to me. This Grab Bag gives me the peace of mind that if something cataclysmic happens, I can rest assured that I won't go hungry. Highly recommend!

Surprisingly Good Emergency Food Supply!

AmandaM March 12, 2025

Picked up this ReadyWise Emergency Food Supply just to have on hand, and honestly, I'm pretty impressed. The packaging is compact and easy to store, which is a big plus. Tried a couple of the meals, and while it's not gourmet, it's actually pretty decent for emergency food—better than I expected! Love that it has a good variety and a long shelf life, so I don't have to think about replacing it anytime soon. Definitely a solid choice if you want some peace of mind without breaking the bank.

Good value and good for emergencies (Or Camping)

Matthew March 16, 2025

We had an opportunity to try ReadyWise Emergency Food Supply Ready Grab Bag for free thanks to a branded offer and I was very happy with the quantity and quality of food that come with this emergency food bag. The grab bag comes with granola, rice dishes, pasta dishes, cereal and a pot pie dish that are all easy to prepare by simply adding water. While I didn't try all of the food options that come with the bag, I did try the stroganoff dish and it wasn't too bad. The food's not restaurant quality, but that's not why you would be buying this product anyways. Personally, I found the bag easy to carry, transport and store, but it does weigh a bit, so some folks might have difficulties moving the bag around. One thing to keep in mind though, is that the individual packages of food contain multiple servings, so one package of food is meant to be for more than one individual. Overall, I definitely recommend the ReadyWise Emergency Food Supply Ready Grab Bag and if you're looking for a great food option in the event of an emergency, or if you're going camping, this is a good, affordable option. (Just remember that you'll need water in order to eat most of the dishes.)

Great for Emergency Preparedness

Rachel March 12, 2025

This is a really great product. It comes in a nice bright red waterproof bag that is very compact. It's perfect for a family for a short emergency or 1-2 people for a longer time since each meal comes with six servings. It has a long shelf life which is great because I love emergency preparedness that I can set and forget. It is decently heavy but manageable. I only wish I knew what the meals tasted like but in a true emergency I don't think I'll care much!

Good for side dishes.

Cheri May 18, 2025

This is a handy item if you are going camping. However, the thing to realize is that these items are side dishes and not main meals, except for the breakfasts which are cereal. One of these packets would be good to add with grilled chicken, burgers, fish, or other main entrees. They are teriyaki "flavored" rice and chicken pot pie "flavored" potatoes and rice, so they do not appear to contain the meat for the main meal. I have not tasted any yet but will try soon. Packaged well and in handy carry case.

convenient and flavorful options

Jennifer March 14, 2025

i got this to have ln hand as we live in florida and experience hurricanes often and to also keep some in my car in case in an emergency. I was pleased with the food options and was surprised with the sophistication of some of the meals considering what they are and the lack of prep needed. I was also surprised and happy to see that this product has a 25-year shelf life. The only thing that i didn't like was that it is for six servings and we are a two person household. Seems like a lot of waste to me! I hope I never have to use this, but if I do i know i am covered!

Emergency Food Supply

Anonymous March 12, 2025

Good packaging and concept, easy to carry and a variety of items. Had only tried a couple since this would generally be an emergency supply but the prep was easy and taste was alright, would recommend adding a small salt/pepper or add your own seasoning for more flavor.

3 stars due to lack of emergency so food untasted.

Jennerlynn April 18, 2026

I can't say anything about taste (I'll let you know after a disaster or in 25 years whichever comes first… hoping for the 25 years). I can say that the bag feels sturdy and durable so it's something that will take a bit of a beating. I don't think it is 100% waterproof since it is made from a material that feels like rip stop material that is often used in backpacks and that stuff will shed water to a degree, but an extended exposure to water and the contents will get wet. I did open it, and everything looks perfectly sealed, nothing looked like it was bloated or had air in it. And it seemed like reasonable portion sizes for each meal. In my case, I don't eat a lot so I might get an extra day or two from this kit since I typically only eat 2 meals per day. I like the roll top design of the bag, it's simple to open and close and will aid in repelling water if it's raining but still not a guarantee it will stay 100% dry. At this point I'm happy with the emergency food kit, but I gave it 3 stars since I have no clue how the food tastes or if the prep time is accurrate. If I knew the food tasted good and that the instructions for preparing the food were accurrate I would give it a higher number of stars. So, I went with a neutral rating in re to stars because aside from the quality of the bag and the idea that everything appears to be sealed properly, I really can't speak to the quality or flavor of the food. At this point I'm feeling good about the kit, but won't know for sure until there is a disaster or I get near the end of its lifespan which ever comes first. I made a tag using a piece of paper and some clear mailing tape and wrote the date of purchase and the expiration dates of the food items on it so it would be easier to know when it is reaching the end of its shelf life. I folded the clear mailing tape around the piece of paper like a book cover fits around the pages of the book, made sure the edges were all stuck together and then used a 2nd piece of the clear mailing tape and did the same book cover type concept using enough tape to extend the tag so it was easy to read without interference and put the handle of the bag formed by the roll top into what could be compared to the spine of a book and ran that bit of tape about half the length of the tag leaving space between the bag. Handle and the tag for easier reading. This labeling method works really well for labeling device cords and makes it easier to get the right cord for the right device also helps with cable management behind the tv stand and the tags hold up really well longterm which is why I chose to make this type of tag for my meal kit. Im thinking about purchasing some more of these to give as gifts. So, yes, at this point unless the food disappoints me, I'm happy with this emergency food kit.
