The reception on this radio was absolutely exceptional, the selectivtivity and sensitivity was avsolutely great. I am 65 yrs old and have been a MW/SW listener and logger for years. This radio surpasses many of my more expensive units. After dark away from interference of RF noise this radio is capable of pulling in stations several hundreds of miles away on medium wave/AM without a exterior passive AM antenna. The shortwave setting brought in stations several 100 miles away and even a few over 1,000 miles away. Hooking up a long wire antenna the lets you pull in even more distant stations. The FM band is also exceptional.

I bought this for my brother, and he absolutely loves it. The sound quality is surprisingly rich for such a small device, and it picks up a wide range of stations with ease. It's brought him a lot of joy, and I'm glad I chose this gift.

not a bad radio. a bit overpriced i think for what it is. fm reception isnt that good and blutooth distance is limited. def not a boom box. sound is nothing special. better choices oyt their for same money.

I used to be a salesman at a huge electronics chain. This radio has better AM and FM reception than our far pricier radios had. But the shortwave reception is nonexistent, as expected for a cheap radio. It literally could not even receive even one SW station. The radio is very heavy even without batteries, so it is not truly portable. The overall quality is excellent considering the price. Great parts, engineering, sound, and appearance. But it is worthless for receiving shortwave signals.

You must have read my mind. Exactly what I want and had given up on finding. A simple working radio, tuned in and stays tuned, you turn it on and in the same gesture, quickly adjust the volume. No clunky features, button pushing, playing with memory that doesn't remember…. And so inexpensive.

Great portable/table radio. Sound is perfect. Although tuning is analog the radio has digital circuitry that holds true to frequency (ie. no drifting). This is a really good radio for the price. Controls are large and easy to access and use. Plus it has a shortwave band. Over all a darn good radio.

I bought this for my husband. He likes the radio except it says that you can add a DVD player to also listen to CD's, but he hasn't found the correct player. We bought one but it was the wrong kind. It would be beneficial if they can include more details about the type of player should be purchased to use with this radio.

a really good radio. Very good reception and sound. Doesn't take up much room, and it's good to listen to in a large room. Well worth the price. A great buy.

For the money it's a good radio. I was a little bit disappointed on the FERITE core antenna. But for the money is a good value. I can also load podcast on a USB stick and listen to them.

This portable has fair reception quality for AM and FM but just acceptable for Shortwave. The cost is low so this is not a great disappointment. The tuning is on an analog dial but it seems the actual tuner is digital. There is no fine tuning for Shortwave and the LCD display is just for the mp3 player which is rather confusing because when you use the radio it is blank. The weight of the radio is substantial and the 3 D cell batteries power the unit satisfactorily.
