Revlon Essentials Smooth Results, RVST2043, Ceramic 1” Flat Iron

I mostly have straight hair but it waves in the back. I already had a curling iron which I rarely used; so this time I wanted to try a flat iron. I really like my new Revlon ceramic. The plates, themselves, are 2" wide. You just turn it on, set the temperature and wait for the light to stop blinking. It heats in seconds. It allows me to make a quick job of my hair style and the ceramic heats evenly. My hair follicles are fine and hair volume is medium thickness. I wanted a flat iron to accommodate it with a sustaining 300 to 350 degrees. This Revlon iron easily does that. It's maximum temperature is 400 degrees. It has an automatic shut off for safety in case I leave it plugged in as well as an on and off switch. When I use it, I make sure my hair is bone dry and I don't have any product on it to melt into my hair follicles. I learned that with my curling iron- if your hair steams or sizzles- stop immediately. Although my hair is gray now, I colored it for 20 years and it really dried it out. When I stopped coloring, I decided to baby it; so whatever I do to my hair, I do carefully. I gently apply heat from the flat iron. I part my hair in the back and pull it forward and taut. I let the ceramic plates glide quickly over my hair and try not to repeat for the protection of my hair. I love the way my hair looks after its ironed and it generally stays that way all day.

I got the 1 1/2 inch Revlon flat iron to replace my 5 year old 1” Revlon flat iron that is still going strong. For reference: I am 56 years old with long slightly greying auburn hair with blonde highlights. I wash and condition my hair every 1-2 days with argan oil shampoo and conditioner, blow it dry, then run a flat iron over it to smooth out the waves and frizzies. This new flat iron features a floating plate, which means that the plates have a spring like action when pressed together. It definitely makes for less pulling on my hair. The plates get ultra hot to the point that on its hottest setting, I couldn't touch my hair afterward. So I turned it way down and that was more than enough to get the job done in less than half the time of my 1” flat iron. I would highly recommend the 1 1/2” for longer or thicker hair, as it really takes just one swipe and there is no need for multiple passes. There is a switch to turn it on and a dial to adjust the temperature. I prefer these mechanical features over the press and hold buttons on older versions. It heats up super quickly and has the automatic shut off feature in case I forget.

My hair is wavy and fine, and the Revlon Fast Results ceramic flat iron is the first straightener that I have used that actually keeps my style all day long. The iron heats up evenly and quickly, and the heat settings allow for quick styling without doing damage to your hair. And no tugging on your hair either- the ceramic 2 inch flat iron glides smoothly without causing damage and/or breakage. The power cord is long, so no worries about how far the nearest outlet is. This feature makes it great for traveling. And the auto shut-off is super important to me- as I am always forgetting to turn my iron off. Love the long-lasting style throughout the day. Revlon has truly created the perfect Flat Iron with unbelievably fast results! This Flat Iron is packed full of great features! It has a really nice sleek black design and a little light that flashes on the side to let you know when it is heating up. When it is ready to use... the light will quit flashing. Heat up is super fast...like within a minute or so. I can plug my Revlon Flat Iron in and turn it on and by the time I am done drying my hair, it is ready for use. I love the tangle free swivel cord because my makeup table has several cords plugged in around it and my Revlon Flat Iron never gets tangled up like a lot of my other cords do. It has 2" grip plates that eliminate any open gaps and glides gently down my hair while going through the straightening process. It also has a nice plate-locking switch that helps with space saving and is perfect for my small storage space on my makeup table. It also has an automatic shut off after 1 hour. That is a feature I have never seen on any Flat Iron that I have ever owned before. This Flat Iron heats to 400 degrees so if you have fine hair like mine, make sure you turn the knob in the middle of the Flat Iron to low before you proceed with using it. I was shocked to see how hot it got! If you have thick hair...this is the Flat Iron that you need because it will straiten your thick hair very quickly! Fine hair or thick hair, Revlon ceramic coating will protect your hair with less damage and I am thrilled to have this fine addition added to my daily makeup routine!

My hair is somewhat fine and straight, but my bangs just flip out crazily. So a flat iron is crucial to tame them down. This iron does a nice job making the hair lie flat without completely thinning them out. It's easy to use, has various degrees of heat to choose from, and doesn't drag on or feel like it's damaging the hair. I like that it has auto shutoff for peace of mind. I am impressed at how fast this REVLON flat iron heats up. In only 1 minute (with it set to the hottest setting) I was able to start straightening my hair. It maintaned the heat level and I was able to straighten my shoulder length hair in 6 minutes.The 2" ceramic coated plates allow for smooth use and doesn't damage my hair. Love the swivel cord, also the auto shut of feature which turns the flat iron off if left on after an hour. The indicator light on top flashes when heating and stays on when fully heated and ready to use. There is a plate locking switch in the handle for easy storage. Great product and easy to use. No need for styling products the smooth finish on my hair lasts all day even in rainy weather.

I've been wanting a flat iron for so many years. This Revlon flat iron is so easy to use that I pulled it Straight Out of the Box and started using it. It only took a few minutes to have my hair perfectly straight. It is very well made and I highly recommend it.

I've had the same flat iron for over 10 years, so this new Revlon Fast Results Flat Iron is quite a change. It's twice the width of my old one so it feels a little heavier, and it took some getting used to. But it works well and because it's wider, I get done quicker. It heats up fast. Not sure if it's because it's new, but it doesn't move quite as smoothly through my long hair as I'm used to. There's a 6' swivel cord, which makes it easy to use no matter where it's plugged in. It locks so it's easy to store.

I like the style of these flat irons but the blades moves in and out, like pushing a button, when you apply pressure to your hair. This function made them seem as though they were flimsy or off balance. I also felt that I wasn't putting enough pressure on my hair unless I squeezed hard enough. Although some may prefer this type, they do get hot and the cord is a good length.
