I LOVE this curling iron. I did not realize how much my old one was damaging my hair but I can literally see the difference now. After I use it, my hair looks shiny and healthy. I can definitely feel and see a difference. I guess it's the fact that it's Ceramic that makes the difference.
I didn't have high hopes for this curler as it's cheaper side of hair styling tools but let me tell you.. It worked better than some of the $40.00 plus tools! It heated to temperature in about 1 minute! The clamp never pulled my hair, And it was so easy to style my hair with this curler that my hair that usually takes about 30-45 mins because my curlers don't hold heat well.. This curler did it in about 10 minutes! I am beyond pleased, And have already recommended this curler to several people.
Does the job. I miss the old style. It's hard to find 1.5 size irons. It's stiff and doesn't curl as smooth as the previous model. It may need time to break in. I only buy the revlon brand. I searched for other brands but couldn't find anything similar. Hopefully it will last. I attached a picture of the old one beside the new one.
Doesn't get as hot as it say but, it does an okay job considering the price. If you're on a budget this would be an iron I would recommend. If you can afford a better one, get that instead.
I do NOT like that the on/off button and how many times I have accidentally pressed it off. The design of this was poor. Surely someone could design this switch differently. Also the curling iron does not sit up straight and falls to the side and can easily be way to hot if you have it placed on your counter or like me I use a towel so as not to damage or scratch my countertop but this is a safety concern folks!
the curling iron itself works well, but the on/off switch is located in an area that makes it easy to accidentally shut off while using. I most often use this in the morning to get ready for work, and not knowing you have accidentally shut off your iron, then waiting more time to heat back up is a big deal.
This curling iron is fairly standard for it's price. The problem is the placement of the power button! The spring for the clamp could be a little tighter, too. It does heat up very well, tho. I can't understand why the on/off button is placed right where one's thumb is used to operate the tool as I have frequently inadvertently hit it, and turned the heat off! I'm thinking that no women were used to evaluate this design?!?
First, this curling iron makes a strange buzzing sound when it’s plugged in and running. It was annoying. Second, I did not find this iron easy to use. My hair did not glide smoothly through the barrel and clip which is necessary. Given this, I took the iron back to the store.
100% product defective! Brand new, first time using and the handle for the clamp BENT. I had just started to curl my hair when the metal under the black plastic handle total bent over to the point I could not unclamp/release my hair. I straightened it back, and of course it did it again. Eventually the metal will fatigue and break off. So I shut off, unplugged and will be returning to Walmart as a LABELED DEFECTIVE ITEM. I also reported it to Revlon. (RV051). But to my surprise per the box, this is a 2023 product! So why is it still being sold, when should have been recalled. I do not believe this is a one off. Horrible quality/product design! No I will NOT be buying another REVLON curling iron, I will try another brand with another clamp handle design! Too bad since nice long 67.5 inch cord with a 4 inch barrel clamping surface (a bit short for my long hair). Overall 13” long. Good indicator light (flashes when turn on), solid red when ready to use. Plus with ceramic, high heat curls last a long time even without hair product, that is exactly why I brought it.
I buy it and curl my hair for a couple days, then the thumb clamp breaks off after using it the metal bends, this is my third one i bought tyhat has the same problem.
