I would've rather had a different color, but that's the only thing I don't like about this pizza cooker. It's nicely painted %26 the finish is nice. Bright red just isn't part of my kitchen color theme. This countertop pizza oven/cooker is exactly like their tiny waffle makers %26 griddles, but large enough to cook a 12" pizza. It works exactly the same in that there's no on/off switch. If it's plugged in, it's on. No temperature regulation, just as in the smaller machines. However, these are facts rather than a complaint. I have no complaints about the function of this cooker. I expected it to function the same as their smaller machines %26 it does. I love their smaller machines %26 the quality of those is what made me confident in purchasing this larger version. I find that the bottom of the pizza gets too dark for my liking, so I put a Silpat under the pizza, so it doesn't brown as much. This is my personal taste, however, so ymmv. I've only cooked 7" pizzas so far since that's what I have in the freezer, but I'm looking forward to trying a 12" in it. I've cooked pancakes in it several times %26 it's really cool. Since it's just me %26 my dog, we don't need to use both sides of the griddle. I pour the batter in %26 close the lid %26 pancakes are done in a flash is it cooks the top too, then I just flip the pancakes to brown the other side better. I feared this might be an almost superfluous purchase, but I find myself pulling it out often because it's the easiest/fastest way to reheat things when you don't want to dirty a pan. Even using just the bottom, a family could heat up 5 Eggo waffles at a time in this thing %26 it would be super fast -- no waiting turns for the toaster. So, you can do that many waffle-sized pancakes on that one side along, meaning you could do 10 if you opened it up to use both sides of the griddle. The top side doesn't get as hot as the bottom, so pancakes in the lid part of the griddle would take a little longer to cook. Anyway, once you have this thing, you might want to keep it where it's easy to see %26 reach because you'll find all kinds of different ways to use this cooker. I don't have a single regret about this purchase.
It works great and very easy to use, I make frozen pizza on it all the time just don't pick up the lid or else the steam will come out and not cook the top part. But making eggs or wraps are so easy and nice
I love that the crust bottom cooks also. It will also lay flat so you can cook a variety of foods. The non stick works great. The only thing I wish, is that it had a timer.
I bought for my 10 year old son for Christmas. He is making pizzas like a mad man. Works incredibly. Absolutely recommend!
This makes great pizza, this is perfect for summer , when you don't want to use the oven.
So without a way to drain some grease into a drip-tray it becomes a bit more difficult to manage. However, it's a quality build sturdy Handle. Identical copy of the Dash 12" model but $16 more for Rise. Definitely consider the models with adjustable heat settings next time no matter the price.
Upper heating plate missing retainer clips and screws. Had to install screws and washers to hold upper plate from being only supported by two rear screws.
Item's durability, but 1st saw item cheaper elsewhere
when the product got to me the box was damaged in the middle like something heavy was on it. When i 0pened it to check the product I noticed on the side of the product had a heavy Crack on the side and a little chuck out of it ( like it was dropped so I can not give it as a Christmas present do to not knowing if it will work ) and thats disappointing . Because i read the Instructions on it and it says do not use if cracked.
no temperature gauge, heats up and burn your food.
