I tie dyed a couple dozen shirts for my son's up %26 coming band, “Soul Medicine”. The shirts had to represent the brilliance that is the band, no washed out or watered down colors. So after tie dyeing %26 before the first washing, I used the color fixative %26 rinsed the shirts in an ice water bath %26 4 months later, countless washes %26 drys past %26 the colors are still very vibrant!!

Rit dye fix works really well. I was doing several dye projects and I didn't want to use hot water or the dryer, and this product was an easy save. I used it on black refreshed dyed pants for work and so far after many, many washings, my pants are still rich black. My tie dyed shirts are still vibrant. This fixer is a true fixer.

Since I wasn't shipped the colors I ordered, I never had the opportunity to try this out--but Rit has a great reputation for a fine product! When I was a kid, my mom tie dyed all our family's shirts for fun and they were perfect. 10 out of 10 would choose this Rit Colorstay Fixative when I decide to go for it myself.

I use this product every time I dye my clothing. I believe that it is recommended more for natural fibers, but I find that it also works well on my synthetic fibers as well. It actually helps my synthetic fibers hold the dye. It is simple to use, and I recommend this product.

Used as directed, most of the color left after washing....same washed black color as before dying.

Followed the directions for the was machine the items came out like the dye color but then followed the process to keep the color in the items and when it got done the items were not the dark color as the pkg or the color they were before I put it in this solution to hold the color in it so it wouldn't fade it did it on several of my outfits that I had dyed because I needed the color that I was working with

Packaging looked like this bottle was 10 years old. Nothing like what's in the picture. Also the bottle was half empty and smelled strongly of ammonia. I've bought the RIT dye color stay many times and it's never smelled like that before.

Used the Rit Dye and the Rit Color Fixative on a pair of shorts to dye them black. When I wore them black dye got on my new tan car seats and I had dye on my legs!
