A Magic Potion

Ellen March 1, 2026

This product blew our minds! When my son turned all of his white sock, t-shirts, a sweatshirt, and sweatpants pink by washing them with a new pair of joggers, we never expected to be able to salvage any items. This worked like a magic potion! The items are now whiter than those not in that load of laundry. And no damage to the fabric!

Incredible. I washed a blouse with a dark blue dress from a thrift store - since it was from a secondhand shop, I didn't think I needed to wash the blue dress separately. Unfortunately, it bled all over the ivory blouse. I really liked the blouse, so figured it was worth trying this. It worked perfectly! It's a bit fiddly to use, but straightforward - just good to have gloves and a mask on hand with how the powder is.

Got Hot Pink Out of White!

Maggie March 13, 2026

I used this Rit Color remover to get pink color out of a couple of white tank tops. I washed them with a hot pink shirt and the color bled on them. I used the whole packet of the color remover and I let them soak for longer than the directions said, probably about double the time, then washed them normally in my washing machine and all the pink color came out! I was SHOCKED! Especially because I tried a different brand of color remover first and it didn't get the pink out all the way. I'm so relieved because one of the tank tops was brand new, hadn't even worn it, and the other one was a favorite that I thought I was going to have to buy again, but luckily didn't have to! I don't know if this would work on something else that isn't white though.

1 packet hot water bucket = magic!

Macon December 30, 2025

MAGIC PACKET! I had a cream maxi dress get tinted pink in the wash and tried a handful of natural solutions %26 oxi clean to get it out, nothing worked. Got this stuff and will say washing machine method did NOT work. BUT THEN I filled a bucket with steaming hot bath water, 1 packet of this, threw my dress in there occasionally stirring. Let it sit overnight and good as new my morning! Does smell like chemicals tho so be careful and wash alone after.

Highly Recommend!!!!!

Anonymous December 15, 2025

I washed our Christmas stockings and the red bled on all the white!!!!!!! I was crushed but then remember RIT. It has saved some of our clothes before. I ordered it and when it came in a decided to do it in the kitchen sink though you can use it in the washing machine. I lined them up to dip the white in and within 4 hours they went baby pastel pink to white!!! Saved them, thank goodness!

Worked like a charm!

Tanvi April 12, 2026

Worked like a charm. My white skirt was dyed with brown patches all over in the washing machine. I used the bucket hot water soak method with RIT and was able to get all of the color out in one go. I then washed it in a washing machine and my white skirt is as good as new.

This Stuff Works!!!

Tobysmom1111 February 21, 2026

I made the mistake of wearing a brand new white bra wuth a brand new red tee shirt. Yikes!!! Even though I had washed both items before wearing them, the red color rubbed off on my new bra. It was a mess. I thought of using bleach to try to remove the stain but I thought it would damage the elastic on the bra. I tried this Ritz color remover and **WOW** it worked great. It removed about 98% of the stain. It looks so much better. Highly recommend!!

Use to see wonderfully white and bright fabric.

Cathy March 12, 2026

I've been searching for a way to whiten discolored clothing and this turned my tidy whites into clean looking white garments again. I saved a pack and plan passing it along to my friend.

This stuff stinks!!!! Like smells bad. They should have led with that information on every review. Smells so bad I didn't care if it worked or not LOL! I had to open windows and put baking soda and vinegar down to try and neutralize the sulfurous odor. If you're desperate for getting color out and only need to use a little I guess you can try it but goodness gracious! It stinks! Not at first but then BAM!!! Smells like somebody putting in a relaxer on their head and then boiled eggs and meat! No thanks!

COLOR REMOVER DIDN'T DO IT . . .

anonymous September 13, 2025

I had a pair of a very light blue burmuda shorts with a small stain in an obvious spot. I used the Rit COLOR REMOVER and followed instructions carefully. The lightest color came up as a very off white, almost a faded khaki color. I let the shorts soak for the maximum time. Disappointed, I used 1/8 cup Clorox and in a bit more than a minute, they came up pure white. I had a second pair with a similar stain. This time I used only 1/8 cup Clorox to a gallon and a half of water. It took a little longer, not much, but they came out white.
