Rit All-Purpose Powder Dye, Navy Blue, 1.125 oz

I decided to redo an old chair with very ugly upholstery and dark wood legs and arms. I tried to bleach the upholstery outside, but bleach did nothing. It may be a synthetic fiber. Since the chair was free I decided to use RIT dye. I first wet the upholster with a lot of warm water, than mixed a strong (almost double powder to water ratio recommended) very hot dye mix, and put some in a spray bottle and put the chair on a drop cloth on the grass. I sprayed and used a sponge and went over ever area and added more spray if it was uneven. Left it over night and it came out gorgeous and completely covered the ugly pale green zig zag pattern. After priming and painting the wood a slightly off white it is beautiful!! The Rit Dye was amazing. Now I just want to lock the fabric color in with Rit color Stay Dye Fixative.

Initially I was hesitant to use a fabric dye, but two things convinced me to try: RIT has been around forever; the instructions were extremely simple! I dyed some white cotton pants navy blue, and they came out perfect! I'll definitely buy RIT again.

Item arrived quickly. The packaging has clear instructions making it easy to use. I will have to use more or add a little black on my next attempt at dying knit material since I want it a bit darker than it came out.

Easy to use and returns faded items close to original color. The color does fade overtime, but it is worth repeating for items you don't want to have to buy again just because they have faded.

I like my work clothes—they're blue but fade quickly—so I decided to breathe some new life into them to save a bit of money, and they turned out looking brand new.

This was a critical component to creating tye dye t-shirts. The color was perfect, and it came with easy to follow instructions. Highly suggested fabric dye!

This was purchased to dye a mattress cover. It worked perfectly!

It worked but trying to cover orange and green wasn't easy so it had splotches an areas not covered it ended up looking tie died instead. I needed to color my work clothes blue to match uniform.

The dye worked good for a faded pair of navy shorts. I did not know they sell a Rit dye fixative product until dye project completed but it is pricey.. Might be a good idea to sell as a discounted set. I used the old methods to set the color. Hope that works!
