went on great with a yard sprayer, Dyed the craft room carpet. color was great, instructions very easy, simple to use. Had some stains I just couldn't get out. so I dyed the carpet. extremely easy to use.
My first shot at dyeing a garment was a thrilling race against the clock—the morning before my daughter needed it for a wedding later that day! The process was surprisingly simple, and the result? Absolutely stunning! I’m hooked and can’t wait to breathe vibrant new life into more pieces! P.S. The dress started as a super light peach synthetic fabric, and I was nervous, but it turned out amazing! Also - yay for decent Walmart sandals for this boho celebration!
This worked greats. The more you put in the darker it gets so for lighter color, put less than it says. Stays on clothes did not bleed and stayed the darker teal we dyed it. The onesie we dyed was originally light beige:
I had a metallic gray dress I had worn previously to a wedding and wanted to re-wear it to another wedding we had to go to, so I dyed it blue. I didn't know if it would take as it's nylon and lace, etc. but I went to the RIT website and followed their directions and it colored the dress beautifully. I loved the color and think it came out this shade since the original color dress it was dying was a dark gunmetal gray. I love the color and am keeping the dress to wear again in the future to yet another wedding as I love it so much.
If you want the end result to be black do not add water. I used it to dye upholstered chairs that were originally a sun daded lavendar. I painted undiluted dye on with a paint brush, let it dry, then poured boiling water over the chair. Let that sit, vthen rinsed with the hose. I am pleased with the results.
My item was originally tan and black. 95% polyester, 5% spandex. I doubled my usage per the instruction for polyester TWICE, but the dye didn’t take much on this fabric. I needed it to be red. It gave a darker orange hue once complete. Not sure if it was the fabric or the dye that wouldn't take.
This is great idea and the colors are rich and true. The only problem with this product is the fact that it requires maintained heat throughout the process which means it must be the stove top method. It is very hard to find a large enough pot for larger items, such as my curtains. Since my pot wasn't large enough the color is splotchy and patchy. I am so disappointed as the color is perfect where it took properly.
Tells you that it will dye polyester, but the grey came out completely blue. Used the whole bottle for one small item, prepped, followed instructions and still came out wrong.
So I paid $65.plus for 12 bottles and only got 6 bottles so I either need the other 6 or a refund.
Im not happy because order was botched. I ordered 4 packages of 3 and only got half what I ordered.
