Roku Smart Home Video Doorbell & Chime SE (Wired)(1-Pack) with Motion & Sound Detection - Voice Controlled

I'm an 70 year old woman who can't move around as much as I use to but due to Walmart delivery I can have just about anything they sell . And don't have to leave home 🥰

The Smart Home Roku app was very good at walking one through the installation process. Start with the app. The unit is small so can replace almost any doorbell. The provided but optional wedge is nice in that it better directs the camera at whoever is at the front door, but it also provides space for wires. Works with Amazon Alexa once you enable the skill on the Amazon Alexa app. Works great thus far. Replaced an older video doorbell that started freezing every time the doorbell was pressed.

This is apparently the wrong doorbell for my home. There's no doorbell wiring. I've tried several times to schedule a return online, but one thing or another kept blocking me. I'm sure it's a good device. Will try again. Then will acquire a battery powered video doorbell somewhere.

So far we like the video doorbell. Good picture and nice coverage. We already had the Roku smart TVs .The only problem we had was that we had to drill an extra hole for the install. I'm satisfied with the purchase and now will buy an outdoor camera.

I opened the package 3 days after I received it, noticed the seal on the box was removed. I can only assume it had been previous sold and opened and returned to store. Haven't had it installed yet. I hope all works. I paid full price for an item that was sold and returned.

So far I have found one thing that I don't care for, it is the mounting plate. I didn't have the option to use the mounting plate w/out also using the wedge. Because I was replacing a normal doorbell (wired) there was already a hole for the wires, but it wasn't big enough for the wires and the wire nuts. I realize I could have used a drill to make the hole a little bigger, but my ex-husband took all of the tools along with the Ring doorbell that we had, and he then put the original doorbell back. Anyway I ended up having to use the wedge which I don't care for. It limits the view to just my porch. Whereas, if I had been able to use the flat mounting plate I would have a broader view of my yard and possibly the driveway. It's unfortunate that they don't include a deeper “box” to be able to encase the wiring, that way a customer could choose from just the flat plate, perfect for the wireless version, the “box” for a full view of the front yard or the wedge for a view of the porch and some of the yard and, of course, the street. The other thing that was MAJORLY ANNOYING was that we had a windy day today and the branches of my tree kept setting off the doorbell and then notifying me that there was a car parked in front of my house. The car is my son's and it's always parked in the same spot because it doesn't run at the moment. Not that the doorbell knows this, I get it, but it was frustrating. I'm having a similar issue with the inside camera that I bought at the same time as the doorbell. It scans my living room and dining room. It keeps picking up the ceiling fan running and says that there's a person (apparently dangling from the ceiling and spinning around, LOL. Hope this review is helpful. Other than the issue I mentioned regarding the doorbell I'm very satisfied with the product.

I really like the features of the door bell and chime (especially notifying you on your Roku system (usually on the TV), but the wireless card is need of a serious upgrade. The doorbell shows an actual picture maybe 1x out of 30. I usually have to flip the breaker to the front porch to reset the Doorbell. Then it detects its first time... and may be another during my 30 attempts. Its frustrating and disappointing. I'll be reinstalling my Ring doorbell.

It never really worked correctly. Sometimes it would record and other times it would not. We tried adjusting the settings and nothing helped. We had the crazy phantom ringing a lot. After 5 months it just started phantom ringing the door bell and would not reset. Tried everything I could find online but the device quit working completely after only 5 months. The only good thing was the video quality was great. The volume and two way communications never worked. Going to see if I can get a replacement under warranty.

Installation was fairly simple, but my indoor chime did not work. I did all troubleshooting steps in the instructions, but chime still did not work. No problem, I thought, because the last troubleshooting step was "call Roku customer support," and it even provided a phone number. That number took me to their corporate office directory, with NO ability to connect with a human. The recording simply said "leave a message" -- and "anticipate waiting a long but unknown amount of time until they return your call." I Googled whether Ring offers 7 day live customer support. Unlike Roku, the Ring website says they do. I'm returning this Roku doorbell in a moment and will replace it with a Ring. Disappointed because I thought there would be advantages of already having Roku TV's throughout my house.

Horrible support options. The event recording doesn’t work and says I have to purchase a subscription, which I did and it still doesn’t record. It is almost impossible to reset the camera once set up and has horrible connection to Wi-Fi. Also there is a button to send picture and video events to Roku which can easily be pressed by accident. There is no way to hide this button and it is very easy to send personal events to Roku. Privacy is a concern.
