Rubbermaid Patio Chic Cabinet

I’ve been searching for a moderately priced, well made patio cabinet for a week. It’s not a huge industry, I probably reviewed every model made by the biggest manufacturers. Long story short: Ignore the bad reviews. Everything came in my box, looked decent and using a simple IKEA cordless drill? I was able to quickly drive in all the screws and put it together. I actually did it in my living room before sliding it onto my patio. Took me alone about 2 hours. But I was taking my time, listening to a podcast and had no help (so I had to get creative at times). If you have issues with the doors opening? I suggest adding adhesive magnets to the doors. Mine clicked close without any issues, I assume folks who were not picky with screwing the screws together smack in the middle of the hole divots might be the cause of their alignment issues for the doors? Just take it slow. Take your time. Final Note: The top of it is not fully flat. It has a slight angle. It’s also rough and the plastic is “slippery” (a plate would go flying if bumped) . So if you plan to use for hold stuff / serving? I’d suggest a towel or something on top so nothing slips off the plastic.

I received this cabinet as a Mother's Day gift and I'm ecstatic at the quality and elegant look this is adding to my outdoor space. I will be using it to store hot tub chemicals, accessories and towels. It's the perfect size to fit in my gazebo and the assembly was quick and easy. It was a team effort and only took about 30 minutes with me grabbing parts and holding the parts, while my husband used the drill. My 8 yr old also helped with handing him the screws. They give you 52-53 AA screws, but it only uses 48, so don’t be alarmed when you have extra screws. I counted the instruction guide twice and it came out perfect. I highly recommend this cabinet for your outdoor storage needs, while being esthetically pleasing!

This box is not the easiest container to put together. But is a good value for the money. You need to be handy and it still can be tricky. Most reviews comment on the doors not always closing well. We found by placing a washer under the door that it helped lock them closed. I was tired of the pool box and wanted an upright cabinet, but didn't want to spend thousands, so I am happy with this purchase. I would recommend, despite the cons.

We bought this to store our patio cushions in on the deck. We also use it to serve food and drinks. It works wonderfully for that purpose and seeing that it's the only deck storage with that height (in this price point) it's a great choice. My only complaint is that it is hard to get the doors to stay closed. Sometimes if you push the door towards the bottom it clicks and stays. When it doesn't, a dowel through the latch does the trick. It is plastic after all. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it and would purchase it again.

i received this and put it together but the doors were not lining up properly or closing the way they were supposed to. i already had one that I purchased and put together in the past and had no issue with it. Had to call to get replacement doors from the manufacturer. some of the pieces in the original one that I received had minor dents and scratches. Rubbermaid needs to have better quality control when packing these in the box.

Assembly of this cabinet isn't too difficult, but the screws required do not really grip the thin plastic they are securing. Is it really that difficult to add a little extra plastic to the areas that will be receiving screws, instead of leaving them paper thin so screws are pretty much useless?? The box mine arrived in was free of damage, but the top panel was damaged on all 4 corners. It looked like it had been dropped hard. The corners are all crushed in and discolored from the bending of the plastic material. Given the price of this item, I absolutely cannot recommend it. I've purchased outdoor cabinets that were more inexpensive, but HIGHER QUALITY. Like I said, the biggest complaint I have is that the screws are screwing into paper thin plastic. They don't even attempt to tighten down. They just strip out before you even feel any sort of resistance. All in all the cabinet is functional, but I would expect to pay half of what it sells for, in order to feel like I got a decent value for my money.

No corner protection in shipping box which caused damage to corners of components. No way to report this to Walmart for price adjustment. Very obvious after assembly which made it impossible to return for refund. Using damaged item. Would like some compensation for keeping damaged item.

Product arrived with NO hardware. There was a box inside the main box completely empty. I called customer service and I am in the process of trying to get the hardware needed. I may just end up returning for refund. Doesn't make sense to pay this much and not be able to put product together.

I like the look of this cabinet but the doors are uneven and do not close properly or stay closed. If I have a defective cabinet I would like a new one but obviously it has already been put together and I can't return in original packing. Please advise on my options. I am enclosing photos.

Unfortunately I read other people's reviews after I purchased this product. Needless to say everyone's negative reviews were correct.. This is a piece of garbage .. The shelf would not stay in place and kept popping out and the doors would not close .. This was totally warped .. I was hoping that I would get a good one.. Not so much! Don't waste your money!! Rubbermaid should remove this product asap!
