Safety 1st Easy Install Tall & Wide Gate

The feedback from others was very useful I checked into several different gates narrowing it down to this one It is worth every penny Well built and metal, sturdy and easy to use By the picture you can tell where I put it. Above the trim so it would be even I used both large extensions to fit in a 42" space

I have had this for a few months now and it has worked well. I was worried because some other reviews say it failed quickly. But I have a very active one-year old and this has kept him contained so far. It is simple enough that my 4 year old can unlock it to get out of the room as she needs, but it will keep the one year old contained for a while. Was perfect for a larger than average arched entryway. Note that I don't use this near stairs--it doesn't screw into the wall.

We have a super awkward space that leads to our laundry room and couldn't find a gate that fit the space and was actually sturdy. This one is super minimal and not bulky, I don't even notice it anymore. I also love that it uses tension and we didn't need to drill into our walls.

I bought this to keep my German Shepard in the bedroom at night. She would hum over the other gate to chase the cat. Problem solved with this gate! She can no longer scale it and chase the cat.

I bought two for dog reasons. I had one similar but was dark bronze with a fancy top design that worked for a long time til kids wore it out through slamming the door. So I wanted one exactly like it minus the fancy up charge. This one has the same exact system and is taller and slightly cheaper. However it seems more loose and the metal isn't as durable feeling. Also both boxes the strap was missing in the “do not cut” area for quick and easy installation. So that was fun. The bottom door guards are loose and keep dropping. Hopefully they can be tightened up. I could be wrong but they look like they were lightly used and returned for resell. Since mine are for dogs it isn't that big of an issue. But if you're buying for a child you may want to double check the quality and condition before disposing of the box for return. Hopefully they work for our needs in keeping some confrontational dogs separated. This is just minutes after install. Not sure why it is dirty and marked up. No dogs up here yet. This gate is great except for the latch. It is extremely hard to open. Almost impossible to open. I know it has to be secure, but it needs to be user friendly.

I was sent someone else's return! all the tiewraps were cut already. luckily everything was still there, but i don't like getting second hand goods when i paid for brand new!!

I have now gone through 3 of these gates. I love them until they hit the 1 month mark of use and the latches slowly get harder and harder to open. It's almost like they freeze up. It ends up getting to a point where twi adults using full strength can't open them. Has happened with all 3 of mine. Must be a product default.

Bought this just a little over a year ago. Like the other review, the latches on our gate were also getting harder and harder to open, until it was impossible. I unscrewed the locking mechanism and discovered that a piece of the latch had snapped off and was blocking the other latch from moving into place. This wasn't a cheap gate but the pieces seem to be made with cheap material. Very disappointed.

We bought 2 of these gates. After a couple of days, we cannot depress the bottom button to unlatch one of the gates. Really GOOD gate with really BAD latch mechanism... Plastic lock parts on a metal gate???
