Skipped the first iteration of the SmartTag and jumped straight into this version. Very premium with the metal ring and a slightly weighty feel to it. Only minor downside is the limited capabilities of the programmable button right now. Hopefully Samsung will consider expanding it to control the phones as well, instead of just other SmartThings devices.
Easy to install and worth the money. I used them initially for travelling and tracking my suitcases and now I am using them for fpr my car, keys and a kid.
At first I tought they might be fake because of very low price, but they are legit. Super recommended, they work great
great tracking device for my old school cars
Worked great for tracking our luggage on a big trip.
I like this product but it was a little hard to set up and understand how it works.
Bought this for my cat that likes to run out. Navigate is never accurate, it has never led me to him. Once moment he is here, one moment he is there. Perhaps can create smth that is more accurate
I've owned the SmartTag2 for about 6 months. It worked fine initially, but it has now developed a known hardware defect where it drains a brand-new battery in less than 24 hours. I have replaced the battery three times with high-quality cells, and the tag kills them within hours every single time. Even after a factory reset, the device remains in a high-power state. Samsung advertises 500+ days of battery life, but mine now lasts less than 1 day. This is a documented issue in the community forums. If yours starts dying fast, don't waste money on more batteries. The unit is internally defective. Very disappointed in the build quality for a premium tracker.
Not only is this device incompatible with non-Galaxy phones, it's not even compatible with all Galaxy phones. I found that out when I tried to run the required software, SmartThings, on my fairly up-to-date Galaxy. I recommend checking the Samsung website for a list of phones that can't run SmartThings before you buy.
Do not buy this tag. I bought it thinking it's better than my old one. I was so wrong. The battery lasted only about 2 months from new. Now after replacing battery, I can't enable double click to find my phone. So many bugs. Samsung support is no help at all.
