[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From scuba diving, mountaineering and flying planes, to skiing and motor racing, I like adventure! My Samsung Gear S3 Frontier replaced my trusty Gear S2 from the past year, which had been a great friend to me. But there was always something missing… Wow, what an upgrade! Samsung have really spent some R
This watch far exceeded my expectation. Lots of features, so many ive not used a lot of them yet. I only charge it every 4 days! Nice size on my wrist and it screams out quality watch! Had mine since release date and now no stock anywhere for xmas! Worth every £££.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The weight and feel of the watch is very comforting, it feels like good quality. The Large face makes it easy to see the detail on the screen. The rotating bezel, and touch screen, makes it very easy to operate and I found all the apps I needed, and some I didn't. It's very easy to get Email, Text and Social media set up. There are some good apps like the maps, I also found one to give me the yardages on the Golf course; there are also some annoying ones, like the fitness one telling me to get up and move all the time. There is an abundance of watch faces to pick from and easy to change, either on the watch or using the paired phones app. It is also easy to change the strap, as it is a standard 22mm fit, there are plenty out there on offer. The screen seems to be just the right brightness all the time, and comes on when you move your wrist to see the time. Excellent battery lift, even with the always on display, though it is not needed as the display turns on when you turn your wrist. The Gear app on the Android phone (Samsung S7 Edge) is also very good, it makes it easy to arrange the apps in the watch menu, and manage apps, notifications Etc.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Gear S3 doesn't disappoint in looks or functionality. A great looking Smartwatch that "feels right" on your wrist, not too big or small. This watch is an extension of your smartphone without actually trying to be a smartphone. Notifications, essential apps, and widgets are all within easy reach. As a Fitness companion, I love the Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) and the Info such as steps, floors, distance and how it Integrates with Samsung's S-Health app. I need essential information at hand so weather, calendar, navigation, and other widgets at the twist of the bezel is so useful. I love music and fitness so having the Music Player integrated into the fitness app is great. I can also play Spotify
Great, love it. I just wish there is Samsung official black stainless steall strap and better access to widgets. Widgets are kept in the applications box which means I need to go there to see how much battery I have left. Also, the Bluetooth range could be better. This is just me being awkward, apart from that....great
Great for when your hands are busy and you need to take a call. Love being able to see my notifications quickly. Good volume for making calls, and people on the other end of the call can hear you fine even with your arm at your side. Nice clear screen. I love being to control spotify via the watch. Im a tradie and this works great for me..
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gear S3 Frontier: Its pretty good so far - I've had it 2 weeks. I'm also wearing my fitness tracker concurrently to see how they match up. There is a BIG steps discrepancy and the calories are way off too. My tendency is to believe the other is closer. However, the good stuff - SOLID - very well made, Awesome Bezel control. Apps are good, better mapping would be good, and sure this will come soon. Quality Screen. I suspect software updates and more apps will continue to improve this offering until it's a Top 3 smartwatch.....But, If you after it for fitness tracking, then I'd probably look for a standalone fitness tracker. Not suitable to go swimming - if you need it for this look elsewhere. Stairs need to be walked up slowly or it misses out flights - I usually run up them
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is good piece of kit although not for everyone. Some will find it difficult to justify high price, but some will find it very valuable and helpful. I've used mine for few weeks now and I've got mixed fillings. Let's start with the benefits. For me (engineer working at heights), the best function is a built-in speaker and microphone. I don't have to reach for my phone to receive or make a call. Great! It can be very handy whilst driving as well. The same with notifications, messages, email etc. Reminders, calendar and other similar feature known from smartphone are good but you will still mostly set up your reminders and appointments on the phone. It's just easier on the bigger screen, but notifications popping up on your wrist are a good thing. There are certain aspects of the phone you can control via the watch like sound level, music and video. Additionally you can control the camera via the 3rd party app and probably much more I didn't discovered yet. Not bad. I like to be gently waken up by the vibrating watch with no sound whatsoever. If you need a little bit more, then full volume will wake up most of the people. I don't really us all the things like weather widget, news feed etc. but they are there if you need them. I'm enjoying using S Health app. It automatically recognises your activity, constantly monitoring your heart rate and movement. It takes few minutes to recognise the “workout” and it's not always accurate but gives you a new perspective on how active you are. Nice bonus of this new “smart” technology. It will even remind you to get up and stretch when you seating steady for too long. It automatically tracks your sleep patterns and can be paired with the mobile apps to get even more insight in to your night. To Aps then. I didn't install many aps or widgets so far but you can find anything from new watch faces, through aps from various categories like: finance, lifestyle, social networking, entertainment, utilities, etc. ending with the games. Yes! You can play games on it! Having said that, the choice is not grate at the moment. There are tens, maybe hundreds of apps, some free some paid, but it's still early days for smartwatches. More will definitely come in the future. Design wise – it is a good-looking watch. I've been testing the Classic version and I have to say it's not my personal style. It looks very good, shiny, with the leather strap etc.
Great watch for everything but there are not any great apps for detailed navigation for outdoor use. Android wear 2 has View Ranger which is excellent but this watch runs on Tizen . Hopefully they will come up with something soon apart from Gear nav which is just basically Google maps great for finding a city or a postcode but no luck if you go off the beaten track. Also far too many watch face apps, stopped downloading them now...boring ....yawn !!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded from a Samsung Gear Fit 2. This actually looks like a watch which us great. The only down side is it's a bit chunky. I've knocked it on the occasionally door frame. Other than that, a fantastic wearable.
