This Sawyer clothing treatment is absolutely terrific! Easy to apply, quick drying (completely dry overnight in a marine climate), and so effective at repelling mosquitoes that I barely got even a nip during a 9-day stay in the tropics. And, appreciate that it's not super-toxic to other animals (except, apparently, cats so keep away from them). Thank you, Sawyer!

Great buy

Forqueue July 13, 2014

I've used this product in the past and expect it to perform as well as before. THIS review is a heads-up on what a FANTASTIC deal this is. This is 24 oz for LESS $$ than the 12 oz bottle found on the store shelves!!!! It is the same product by the same manufacturer, just twice as much for about .80 cents LESS.

Worked as expected

AZDewGirl August 21, 2014

We treated our clothing with this as did other members of our travelling group, because we were concerned about getting Chikungunya when going to the Caribbean this year. I and my daughter didn't get a single bite but other members of my party did despite using Deet products as well. I definitely would recommend this over Eucalyptus products as the smell of those was awful and overpowering and I definitely would use that outside only. My daughter and I also took a Super B Complex vitamin for 2 weeks before our trip and during it, as we read Thiamine in the blood, for some reason, can repel mosquitoes. The people in our group who didn't take the thiamine got bitten, so I don't know if it was due to that or if they are just tastier! The permethrin was easy to use though and didn't hurt my clothing. The store didn't have it so I had to have it delivered to the store at no charge. That worked well, but you need to allow time for that.

Excellent Product

John May 19, 2016

This product is great. My main reason for buying it was for deterring ticks. I must say I have yet seen a tick on my clothes or on me since I have used it. I am in thick woods metal detecting almost every weekend, and this stuff works. I would find ticks on me prior to using this product guaranteed. Only complaint is the spray nozzle. Like I have read elsewhere, the nozzle could be better. It doesn't spray evenly, and drips a lot. Don't think this has anything to do with Walmart, but the manufactures themselves. Over all, this product does what it says it will do. Has a slight odor when applied (do it outside), but once dried (suggested 2 hours), I couldn't smell it any longer. You cant go wrong buying this product. It will do all it claims it can do. Very happy customer.

Bought for Africa trip, based on travel doc reco.

Sanger17 August 15, 2016

they said to use one bottle to do 4 outfits, it seemed crazy to use that much so i just made sure I soaked the collars and cuffs and the rest i just gave like a suntan-spray type coverage. Didn't have a problem in on our whole trip, hard to say if it was the spray or just a great time of year, there were bugs out, didn't stop the flies zipping by face but seemed to help with mosquitos, and biters... jk

Wish I would have found this earlier

BMOW August 18, 2014

Spent a lot of time reading about the product. Looked at clothing that already had product on it but ended up buying the spray as I really didn't need any more clothes. Also just really wanted for my work clothes and available selections I really didn't like for work. I poured the product in a small pressurized sprayer that had oz on the side and sprayed the recommended 3oz per garment. In a nutshell this product works. I don't really like smelling like deet and this has no smell after drying. Minimal to no bites in the garden at dusk. Nothing is 100% but this is something I will continue to use to better enjoy being outside whenever I want to be there.

Very Good Tick & Deer Fly Repellent

CTHankster June 18, 2013

FIRSTLY. READ AND UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE USING. Apply only to your clothing and avoid contact directly onto your skin. You will not need much for it to be effective. While it is DEET free, the long term effects of PERMETHRIN are not too well documented. SECONDLY, it is a darn good product. We live very near Lyme CT, where Lyme Diseaase got its name. Deer and other critters roam our yard and fields. Ticks are common. It's better to repell them than have to go through treatment of the disease. So far, I've had good luck. BTY be sure to wear a treated hat and also "blouse" your pants too.

working fine

scrike May 15, 2014

The permethrin is working fine and I haven't had any serious problems with ticks and chiggers even though I have been removing old fence and cleaning up brush and such after a bulldozer. It is only May and not the worst of the pest season but so far so good..
