Sawyer Products Venom Extractor & Suction Pump Kit for Snake Bite, & Bee, Wasp, and Mosquito Stings

My youngest child, while not allergic to bees, unfortunately, has a lot of swelling when he gets stung. In the past, we've tried many things to prevent it, but usually there's still a small amount of swelling. When I heard this product existed, I was very excited to try it. We have not used it yet, but I carry it in my purse at all times. Logically, if you remove the venom quickly, the body will not be able to mount an allergic response, so there should be no swelling. I'm hopeful this will save my son from the pain and discomfort when he gets stung by a bee.

An essential item i needed for my first aid kit. Has assortment of wound suction devices and pre-operation supplies;shaver, wound cleansing wipes, and directions booklet. recommended for anyone who doesn't have this important kit already to add to existing emergency items.

Got attacked last summer and had 4 or 5 yellowjacket stings on my lips/mouth area. This thing was a lifesaver! However the key is to act quickly! I am very allergic to bee stings and this saved me a trip to the ER. Would recommend to anybody thats allergic to bee stings.

I purchased this to keep in the house for bug bites or emergencies with snake bites. It is a great item to take in the car and on outdoor outings. Especially in the warm weather when bug bites occur regularly. You just use the plunger and hold down on the spot for a minute or so. It will remove the poison and the bite will heal quickly. Never had to use for a snake bites- but we do have copperheads nearby, so it's good to have.

My husband is allergic to bee stings and this little thing has been great. It will suck a lot if the venom out and the reaction to the sting is minimal and practically zero pain. We have one in every car the boat and the RV

Every home should have the Sawyer extractor. I carry the extractor in a snack bag, tip unattached preventing the tip from snapping off. The last time I was stung by a yellow jacket the extractor was used and I could literally see the venom pump from my arm. I did go to emergency in the event I had an allergic reaction but it was unnecessary, the extractor prevented a reaction. Any person allergic to bites or stings should carry one and or anyone traveling in an area where they might be snake bitten. I so firmly believe that this is a potential life saver I have given the kits to my relatives.

Wonderful product. My family had one many years ago, my brother who is allergic to bees was stung on the temple, with the fast use of the venom extractor we were later told by his doctor that we probably saved his eye since it stopped the reaction and swelling. Now that I have my own little family, i carry one around for us.

I'd never heard of this device until my doctor showed one to me. Within the week I purchased it at WalMart. Two days later I noticed an itchey welt on the side of my knee. Looked like a little insect bite. So I thought I'de give my new Sawyer Extractor a try! We got it out, followed the directions, it drew out a little bit of something, and sure enough, the welt went away, and it never itched again. REALLY! I'm hooked !

When you take it out of the box you assume you stick the cup onto the bite and do the reverse of a syringe injection. That is not how it works at all. You need to "pump it". Attach a clear cup to syringe (you have a choice of 4) based on bite size. Put that against the bite and hold syringe perpendicular to bite. Start pumping white lever and with every pump more and more air exits. You first do not notice anything at all but after a few pumps you look at the clear cup and your skin is literally sucked into the cup and starts to turn red. I wish this was written on the box because it does not really come with any instructions at all. Smallest cup size is about a dime. Largest is about a quarter. But no... it does not just "suck it out" on first pull. People who said it did not work, simply did not get to the bottom of how it works and imagine if you are in actual survival situation... panic ensues, stress... this is exactly the reason why when you take it out of the box, try it on yourself or someone else and learn how to use it. Suction begins by 4th or so pump. I do not know how many pumps it takes to suck the venom out but on 4th pump is when skins begins to pull towards syringe.

Must have for home and first aide kit. Only buy the original. Not just for snake bites but insect bites as well especially tick.
