Walmart is a world class organization. I'd rather order online VS fighting store crowds. If you can't faint what you want at Walmart you probably don't need it
These kerosene containers are great. The valve system makes carrying them in your car easy with little to no vapor release. They are sturdy and fit nicely in the back of my VW.
Absolutely terrible design. Whenever you want to fill something there is no handle to hold on to, just the spout to depress the valve open and a small indentation on the bottom of the can. This holding method puts so much stress on the spout that it causes it to leak around the treads a lot!!! I poured 3 gallons and caught several cup fulls doing so. I bought a gas and kerosene can and filled once. They will not be filled again How do you even return it now with flammable residue in it now
The hard plastic filters that are built into these cans are far more trouble than they are worth, but they can be removed. It just takes a little effort, hand strength, a flathead screw driver, and pliers. There are videos showing how to remove them. Removing the filters allows for MUCH easier filling at the pump and allows use of a siphon pump to extract the fuel when you’re ready to use it. When pouring fuel from these cans using the pour spout, as long as they spout is firmly screwed into place, they don’t leak and the button to allow fuel to flow through the pour spout is easy enough to press and hold while pouring. The shape of these cans also makes it easier than some others to hold as needed to pour fuel out of the cans. If you remove the filter you can skip the pouring entirely and use a siphon pump instead. Pouring works fine with these cans, but a siphon pump, especially a battery powered one, is even easier. The only negative is that the plastic filters in these are harder to remove than the fabric filters in some brands. But, once you get them out, you never have to deal with them again.
Instructions were a bit choppy on how to use it. But once you get the hang of it it's simple. Even though it's adversized as kerosene, You do not have to use it for that. I do like that it is a different color so if you have mixed fuel compared to regular fuel this will help you keep the differences most are red.
I can't give it 5 stars and I"ll tell you why. The can is great and doesn't smell at all. I have it in my dining room. Can't even tell it's there. The first spout that came with it didn't work. I called the company and they were nice enough and replaced it free of charge. Then the spout button worked but when I fill up my car, the gas leaks out. May be I need to figure out a better way to place the piece in, I couldn't easily with out spilling.
I am overall happy with my purchase of 4 of these jugs, but soon discovered these jugs were not meant to be used in conjunction with squeeze-bulb/siphon pumps. I had to drill a 5/8" hole into each one of these jugs' "mouths" in order to slide a siphon pump feed into the jugs. No biggie, really, Other then that, they serve my purposes well, and are of good quality for a substantially-lower price than Ace Hardware(who wanted about $33(!) each for essentially the same product. Would recommend.
Full flow is so slow! Takes forever to empty 5 gals. Flow adjustment function is meaningless since full flow is so slow
These cans suck. There's a filter inside that makes them hard to fill but is easily removed. Forget about using your battery operated siphon, the spout isn't big enough. The safety spout is garbage, you can't see how much it's pouring out, that's if you can get it in the gas tank of your heater. The pics don't show any of those issues. Spend a little more for the other cans
this thing is ridiculously hard to manage while squeezing the safety tab pushing the green button and pouring with the other hand when it's got 5 gallons of fuel in it! there's only one handle no support handle on the bottom not that it would matter because you can't pour with two hands you have to hold 15 knobs in place. really regretting this purchase.
