Best all-around home battery charger-this is it.

ROBERT May 14, 2026

This tool is lighter than older designed tools but more useful and dependable. I bought three of these for my very large solar battery bank as a backup charging station in snow events. I cannot say enough good words about this charger. Now my solar battery bank (40) batteries strong and my cars battery and tractors batteries are safe from discharge because this tool monitors all 12v and 6v batteries and keeps them charged and stops sulfation that kills batteries. You will never be disappointed with this tool. It will never disappoint you and let you find a dead battery it was connected too. Furthermore, within a few short minutes it will charge your batteries and revive all but totally dead and sulfated batteries. I use it on my riding mowers, my snow blowers and all my batteries for the last 7 years.

I have and used other Schumacher products and they have always been reliable and durable. Prices are about the same no matter where I looked.

Excellent and basic

Coral April 22, 2024

Being an older woman this is not too heavy, easy to use. I had to disconnect my car battery due the censors pulling the charge. Then I used the jump start feature for my riding mower!

OK charger

Mavrik July 28, 2026

It does what it claims to do. Here's the "buts". My experience with Schumacher over the past 50+years has been positive, but several years ago my analog charger finally hit the blitz. Hence I was resigned to purchase this model. Generally I despise things that market automation over functionality. My career revolved around fixing these devises. This charger works but doesn't tell me what it is doing until it stops trying to do what I asked of it. It doesn't tell what the battery voltage was before it decided not to charge and giving that fault light. My fix: applying a temporary shunt voltage so the charger can be tricked into activating the power relay. The absence of an ammeter is frustrating to assess the battery condition during the charge operation. An AC ON/OFF power switch would be nice. And too an outlet for connecting the charge cables. My plans: add an ON/OFF (I/O) switch and an ammeter (100A) to the charger and an "Anderson" type connector for the charge cables. I'll see how it goes. My unit is well pass any warranty. But these things are what i look for when purchasing a charger.

How far we've fallen.

1. WalMart outside box pristine. Inside box had four holes where the rounded feet wore or punched through. Should never have been packaged or delivered. 2. Item was obviously dropped - hard...5 screws holding the housing together, one popped out the others loose. Housing damaged. I reassembled. 3. Base flexes, under designed. 4. Way value engineered relative to previous versions- no 6 volt, only solid state switches, no amp meter, smaller guage leads, clamps feel cheap. Schumacher - Walmart, you could make a quality product for this price, but you choose not to. Should sell for no more than $65. Yes, I am and Industrial Engineer.

questionable charger

Gale January 2, 2024

I put this charger on my RV engine battery using the 10amp setting for about 45 minutes. Then, switched to 6-2 amp trickle charge for about three hours, and the green fully charged light came on. I then took the charger off the battery. I tried to start the RV the next afternoon. Only the gauges would move. Hooked up the charger again. Boost/10amps for 50 minutes, then tried the start/50 amps. engine would not turn over. Switched back to trickle charge for about two hours and the fully charged/green light came on. I disconnected the charger and hooked up another 3 amp trickle charger I had and it was still charging 10 hour later. not sure the Schumacher charger is working correctly. I will have to test it some more. At this point I do not recommend this charger.

Works but came in looking like it was run over!

Ed October 16, 2021

Came damaged right out of the box. The cheap sheet metal cover was bent, twisted and not installed properly. Had to remove all the outer shell, straighten all the panels and tabs to get it aligned properly. Seems to function per spec so far *but* if you're planning on buying this unit, have some tools, a vice and patience to fix the poorly installed sheet metal covers.

I have not yet received my items from your delivery service. It appears the driver either left it at the wrong residence, or kept it for himself as the photo he provided of my delivery/box is not a photo of my property. I have used the brand I ordered and like that brand for myself.
