I used this device for a ride across Virginia - over 840 miles. it was perfect. We bought a second one for my husbands bike. It tightly grips the phone and has a quick release button when you are finished.
Works as advertised, have one on each of my family's bikes. We ride trails together so they are very handy so we can listen to music, look at the map, or keep an eye on texts/calls.
I just bought this today and I really trust my phone but it. It fits nice and snug. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested!!!!!!
Haven't had a chance to use it but it seems well made and for the clearance price you can't beat it.
First day of use, my phone and the holder flew off flying forward after hitting bumps and cracks in the street. My phone now has cracks in the lower left corner almost nearly reaching halfway up to the middle of the phone. I believe it slipped out of position not being able to withstand bumps an cracks on the the street. I'm going to try super gluing it and hope that doesn't happen again. I could've ran over my phone and the holder or a vehicle could have as well.
Bought this a couple of months ago. At first it work perfectly. It held the phone well and I had no worries about it falling. Fast forward and the mechanism no longer works. Before the arms extended by themselves, not anymore. The arms no longer hug the phone snugly( and I used it maybe 15 times in those couple of months).
Make sure that you snap the three prongs of the mount securely into the base! I didn't have it seated all the way. Hit a bump and the phone and mount went flying. If I didn't have the extra included rubber band wrapped around it and a screen protector and case, my $1K phone would be toast. The ratcheting rotation system is wonky. It causes the whole mount to be loosey-goosey and it wobbles at every little bump. I think I'm gonna look into one of the cage-type mounts that encloses the whole phone. This thing is too nerve-wracking.
Attached to bike handlebar as directed, everything was put together correctly and tightly. On my first ride with it I hit one small bump on the sidewalk (one square of the sidewalk was maybe an inch higher than the next) and the whole top part of the assembly disconnected from the clamp that attaches to the bike and flung my phone into the street. Now my iphone is shattered (and yes, it was in a case). I am very unhappy. Will never use this bike mount again, will never buy this brand again, and will actively warn people against them.
I was going slow, hit a small bump- and next thing I know, I was catching my phone. I got lucky. Yes, the attachment was seated as directed and secure when I left for the ride. It's a design flaw. The rotating mechanism is wonky and that piece actually separated on my 1st ride. It can be popped back in place, after you shatter your phone! The bands did nothing to help because they aren't big enough to actually secure your phone to the wonky base. Use at your own risk. I'm returning mine.
