Worked great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using ScotchBlue Original Multi-Surface Painter’s Tape for various painting projects, and it has consistently delivered excellent results! This tape is incredibly versatile, adhering well to a variety of surfaces including walls, trim, baseboards, tile, and glass1. The medium adhesive ensures a secure hold without damaging the surfaces when removed. One of the standout features is its clean removal. The tape can stay on surfaces for up to 14 days and still come off easily without leaving any sticky residue behind2. This makes it perfect for both short-term and long-term projects. The tape is also UV-resistant, which means it can be used for outdoor projects without worrying about it deteriorating under sunlight2. The bright blue color is easy to see, ensuring precise application and straight paint lines. However, I did notice that if not applied firmly, there can be some minor paint bleed-through. This is a small drawback, but it can be avoided with careful application. Overall, I highly recommend ScotchBlue Original Multi-Surface Painter’s Tape for its reliability and ease of use. It’s a must-have for any DIY painter or professional looking for a high-quality painter’s tape
If you are painting and removing immediately it's worth the extra money but if you have to leave it up, like between coats, go with a regular painters tape because this pulls up some of the paint underneath.
I purchased a bunch of this tape as I undertook renovations in my mid 60s house. My main issue has been that the tape curls back on its self after I tear a strip off. Typically I use many ~ 6-9 inch strips to match a consistent width for caulking. This tape will mercilessly curls back on itself before I can fix it to the wall. My solution is to add another strip of something like sello-tape or other normal tape to the non sticky side which gives it strength to not curl back. The real solution could be for 3 m to use a thicker tape?
I always buy Scotch blue tape, but did not like this one. It's pricier that the original version and it works the same. The biggest negative is that it has 'Pro Sharp' written all over the tape. Not sure why they did that.
DO NOT USE THIS TAPE. If you want your paint to stay where you are taping off, DO NOT USE THIS TAPE ScotchBlue ProSharp Painter's tape 2093 I bought because I was fooled by the word PRO and thought this was the best but it was so sticky and that should have been my first sign, maybe I got a bad batch but every roll took all my paint right OFF.
Consider your project goals carefully. If you want extra prep work, significant bleed-through, ragged edges and extensive touch-up after painting, all resulting in a great deal of extra, unnecessary work, then this is the tape for you. If not, find another product. One of the worst consumer products I've encountered in many years of home-improvement projects. One must assume, despite the company's review responses expressing surprise, that 3M knows this product is defective. I will never by another 3M product. Curious that the '0 - Never recommendation choice doesn't work. 3M can't even get the web site to function correctly...
I don't know if the printed repeated 3m logo and the repeated branding is new or not but I hate it! When working on projects, I need to focus on minute details. The branding is distracting. Clever marketing but bad for the user. Keep your branding on the inside cardboard.
Bought this product today to paint my baby's nursery. Went on fine, no issues. As soon as I painted over the tape, it lost all adhesiveness and came off ruining the pattern I was attempting. Will not buy this again.
I used the 2093 so I could paint door and window trim. I'm meticulous when applying the tape. To my disappointment, the blue paint leaked to the white walls. The tape also ripped the paint off of the walls when I removed it.
