Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Kentucky Bluegrass Mix

This was a pleasant surprise. I just thew it out by hand and it came up with a lush green color. Ill be buying more of this for fall.

When you buy a Scotts product you know what you are getting. You can buy less expensive seeds but you will get inferior results. With Scotts products you get the best!! A beautiful lawn

I dropped the seeds at the start of the last winter. They are coming out now but I am not so happy, I thought I put a lot. I was expecting more sprouts. A little bit disappointed.

This product is 100% Bluegrass (4 different varietals), however it seems to be a much lighter green than Bluegrass I've grown before. This product also produces a grass with very thin and whispy blades of grass that get tangled up and mat down too easily. I have taken a few pictures two of them show some bare spots that I seeded last fall, Fall of 2024; it is now June 2025. In a way I feel it grows too densely. The patches are distinctly much lighter in color than the old bluegrass lawn which surrounds it. Two months ago (in 2025), as controlled experiment I grew some of this product in a small pot. One can see the thin, tangled blades of grass up close; they are undesirably lighter than other bluegrasses that I have used in the past.

I put down grass seed covered with pear moss and watered it 2 times every day .About a third came up and doesn't seem to be growing taller even tho I am still watering every day . I am not very satisfied

I've bought Scott's Bluegrass seed for many years with good results but after second time of poor results I'm done with it. Not cost effective nor do I like wasting my time to grow mostly weeds. Last year I had a beautiful lawn but my lawn wasn't looking as plush so I seeded my entire yard and this year I have a wide bladed ugly grass taking over that I can't get of. This year I filled in some low spots, seeded with Scott's Bluegrass Seed Mix and more weeds and crabgrass growing than should be if only 1% of seed is weeds. I've pulled weeds twice now from the areas and again the areas are full of weeds and crabgrass. Before submitting I seeded a small area with prime top soil vs pulverized dirt, same results.
