Haven't tried it yet but my friend has one and said it's really good and easy to use I thought it was bigger but that's not important
seagate is a leader in HDD external drives wish the price was lower and came in a 8TB or 10TB exterrnal drive
OVERALL, I'm pleased with this drive. - It's plug and play (I plugged it in and Windows saw it just fine). - Data cable was included (but a USB-c cable would have been a nice option). - There's a power/activity light. - The drive is quiet. - I copied 4,000 copies of a 360mb full-length movie file to it and after running 72 straight hours, the drive was warm, but not hot...and was only 50% full after 4,000 copies. - It's noticeably not as fast as my SSD drives, but I wouldn't call it slow. - If it doesn't fit in your shirt pocket, it'll certainly fit into your pants pocket. - Two-year warranty surprised me; I was expecting at least three. - DropBox backup and MyLio Photo software included - Works right out of the box on PCs, but Macs have to format before use.
I wanted external storage without paying for "the Cloud". This fills the bill. Two terrabytes is more than I can conceive. One improvement would be blue tooth capability.
Overall, fantastic hard drive. I really like the size of it and how it can pretty much fit anywhere you want it to. Another thing is how you only need one cord, and that's the USB, nothing else. The only downside to it is that I noticed when I plugged it in, it came with 3.6Tb instead of the full 4Tb. But besides that, great, quiet, and small hard drive!
Walmart is not a reliable vendor. I ordered 2 Seagate Drives and the delivery package contained only one. Though the AI customer service via phone said I'd get a replacement and a few days later a customer service supervisor stated that I would be refunded for the missing drive, in both cases the Walmart system overrode these assurances and denied my refund or replacement. I weighed the Seagate Drive and the package to the nearest gm and requested Walmart provide the shipping weight to determine whether one drive or 2 shipped, but they failed to address this means of conclusively resolving the issue. I have been mugged. Seek alternative online vendors.
This is going to be a long review---- I purchased this because I needed more space, and this would do the job. The description said 5tb and works for PC/Laptops. When I got it out the box I had troubles getting my Laptop to scan that it was plugged in. I had to Google troubleshooting steps to figure that out. Next, when I finally got it to read the drive, not only was it not what I paid for, but it only had the compacity of 465gb. Not even close to 5tb. I didn't know if that was due to it still having issues after troubleshooting or not being formatted yet. Yes I know its supposed to come preformatted out the box for windows, however this was not the case. I ATTEMPTED to format the drive for use, but when doing so, the program that windows runs to format, and the drive would freeze upon me while doing so. I attempted 7 to 8 times to do this, all while having to constantly reboot my machine. Finally, I was able to get it formatted, still with it showing only 465gb of free allocated space to use. Also to note, anytime I tried to transfer anything, and I do mean anything, I would get a fatal error that it could not be transferred. So even when I tried to use the device for the sole purpose of buying it to begin with, it couldnt perform the essential functions of what it was made to do. I am not sure where Walmart got this from, but they are a rip off. This was basically a 500gb external harddrive that has faulty sectors inside, wrapped up in a lie and posed as a 5tb hard drive. This all happened within the same day it was dropped off to me for delivery. I immediately requested a full refund, for them to come pick this crap up. No I don't recommend to buy this!!! I do understand that at times faulty devices get sold, but this was way beyond just being faulty. This wasn't even the description of what I ordered and paid for!!!
This drive is cheap and useless. First off, it only has the old-school USB option on its transfer cable, so I was unable to plug it directly into a newer laptop with only USC-C ports. I finally got it to mount through a hub. It worked one time, and then refused to mount again. When I examined it through Disk Utility it said it is a 4TB volume, with zero bytes of available space. I only copied 1TB max, so it should have had 3TB available. I'm returning it.
when I open the paper package there was a used Xbox hard drive. 😡
the port is bent. not showing up on my PC at all. piece of crap
