The safe is just what I wanted: a simple and safe way to store a small number of important documents and protect them from fire and water damage. We have social security cards, passports, birth certs, marriage cert, and key pages from our trust document in there. I saw an online review complaining about it not being safe from burglars. That's not the point though: it's meant for safety from fire and water. And for that, it appears to do the job well. I actually prefer something that doesn't look like it's containing valuables! :-) Overall, I'm very happy with the product so far. Hopefully, we won't have to use it. One other point: I didn't realize until after I had purchased it that we get a free replacement if it's damaged in a fire, if you have registered it. So, we promptly registered it... That was a nice surprise!

This safe is ideal for storing a small amount of letter size documents such as birth certificates, marriage licenses, car titles, passports, insurance policies or any other small items. It fits nicely on closet shelves and is light enough to be moved easily.

Nice unit. I like that the unit seals in the event of a fire. And if that were to happen, the company will supply a free replacement provided the original safe was registered.

I love the size for the documents I have. The fire/water protection seems adequate for my needs. I’m a little worried about the lock mechanism. The long lever to open the latch is misleading. The latch will open if the entire latch is lifted up but not if the end is lifted up by itself. At first I thought the lock would not release. This would be perfect if the lock/ open mechanism worked easier.

Safe is perfect for documents, as long as they are not in a three ring binder. There are no instructions for how to mount this to the floor. The Model and Serial Number are not on the back of the User Manual as the online registration instructions said the would be, so I had to guess at the numbers.

I bought this because the product description states "Keep important papers, digital media and other valuables secure and protected from fire and flood with this durable safe, equipped with convenient carrying handle". THIS IS A LIE. THERE IS NO HANDLE.
