i was worried when i ordered these that they would be too firm, but they are perfect! not too firm at all. you can sleep on these in any position and be comfortable. they keep their shape and we've had them for many months now, they can even hold up to being folded in half and then still retain their shape afterwards. we will be buying these pillows again!
A phenomenal buy if you want a reliable bed pillow without breaking the bank. While they might not have the heavy, structured feel of a high-end $80 memory foam pillow, you simply cannot beat the cost-to-comfort ratio here. They are soft, machine-washable, and affordable enough that you can replace them whenever you need a fresh set without feeling any buyer's remorse. A stellar budget find.
🧠 Overview (What You're Actually Buying) Serta queen pillows at Walmart (like Sertapedic, Perfect Sleeper, and cooling versions) are budget-friendly, everyday pillows designed for general comfort—not luxury hotel-level sleep. Typical features across the line: Down-alternative or fiberfill Medium to firm support Machine washable Usually sold in 2-packs for $10–$30 👉 Translation: These are practical, affordable pillows, not premium or orthopedic ones. 😴 Comfort %26 Feel (Real Sleep Experience) This depends on the type you get, but most fall into these categories: 🛏️ Fiberfill / “Classic” (most common) Soft at first Compresses under your head Fluffy but not super supportive 🧊 Cooling versions Slightly cool to the touch Breathable, but not dramatically “cold” 🧱 Foam-core (“Won't Go Flat”) Firmer center support Keeps shape better overnight Better for side/back sleepers 👉 Real-world feel: Comfortable for casual sleep, but not life-changing. 📊 Durability (Where Opinions Change) This is the biggest dividing factor. Holds shape decently at first Over time, can flatten or lose loft Foam-core models last longer than basic ones Even though the “Won't Go Flat” name sounds strong, they still compress eventually—just slower than cheap pillows. 👉 Expect: 3–6 months = noticeable wear 6–12 months = replacement time (for most users) ❄️ Cooling %26 Breathability Models like: Sertapedic Cool Nites Pillow Sertapedic SleepChill Pillow offer: Cooling fabric covers Breathable fill 👉 Honest take: They feel cooler than basic pillows, but not “AC-level cooling.” Good for light hot sleepers. 🧼 Maintenance %26 Cleaning Machine washable ✅ Holds up fine after washing Needs full drying to avoid clumping 👉 Easy to maintain, which is a big plus at this price point. 💸 Price vs Value Typical Walmart pricing: $10–$15 → basic pillows $20–$30 → better 2-packs Compared to premium pillows: Way cheaper But shorter lifespan 👉 These are “replace instead of invest” pillows 👍 Pros Very affordable Easy to find at Walmart Comfortable enough for most sleepers Wide variety (cooling, firm, soft, foam-core) Machine washable 👎 Cons Flatten over time Not luxury-level support Can feel too soft or too firm depending on model Inconsistent quality between types
Used to buy these all the time when they were in the store. Loved em. Had to order online this time because they are no longer in store and I'm somewhat disappointed. They are much softer than they used to be, and overall flimsier than my older set. Not near as firm and don't hold shape well.
I don't know why they call this Extra firm. It would barely qualify as firm. I have a neck injury, and needed a firm/dense pillow, to support my head %26 neck when I lay on my side. This was not even firm enough to support the weight of my head. I will keep it as a spare pillow, just because I don't feel like driving all the way to the store to return it.
I ordered 2 pillows and one of the pillows had a hole in it was disappointed
I received part of my ordered today, and can't believe how the pillows were packed!!! After unraveling the pillow from it's plastic casing, the pillows now have a bulge in them. Couldn't wait to get them now I am extremely upset. Unbelievable!!!
It looked fluffy once I fluffed it out. It came rolled up in a box. I felt hot sleep on it last night. I don't think it was firm at all. The pillow sunk in where my head laid.
I have always used the gusseted version of the Serta pillow. They typically last a few months. These are unusable from the get-go. Simply put, the brokenness of these pillows due to the poor means of rolling to save package size makes them impossible to sleep on. They both have a hole right in the middle and are hard as bricks everywhere else (where the pillow stuffing has been pushed to).
I bought these pillows because they were EXTRA firm - but when they came the pillows themselves were just firm - I need extra support as I am a side sleeper, and these soft pillows just let my head fall to the bed - I buy EXTRA firm pillows for a reason, and these items were not what I ordered.
