I hate bugs. Stink Bugs and ants are the worst invaders and I would do anything to never see one again. I found Sevin Concentrate and bought a sprayer. I was living in a house next to a herd of cows and there were ants everywhere and every kind of bug imaginable. The ants were coming in...there were dead stinkbugs everywhere in the house (I moved in during the month of April when they are trying to get back outside and dying) and the outlets were infested with ants as well as the rotted broken floors, etc. I bought the spray and sprayed the entire lawn from the door to my car....the entire porch where i grew tomatoes and pickling cukes in pots....and then I sprayed the screen door and got it all into the nooks and crannies where I couldn't see bug knew bugs could hide in there. Now I would like to say before this...I lived in New Hampshire and we were infested with stink bugs. In the fall we would flush about 25 stink bugs a day. Once the snow hit I would have to wash all curtains and everything in the closets as there were hundreds of stink bugs hibernating in the rod pockets and all my clothes, pockets of coats, etc. My son had a laptop case that was unzipped and I opened it and found about 30 stink bugs snoozing in there. It was horrendous. They were covering the outside of the house in the fall. I bought the ONLY bug spray in the Home store that mentioned stink bugs and I sprayed a stink bug on the window sill to test it and saturated it. 7 hours later the legs were still kicking!!!!!! So I was skeptical when I read that Sevin killed stink bugs but I was hopeful about ants and other bugs on my tomatoes and silver fish and whatever else lived in that house. I sprayed the screen door and the next morning opened the door and there was a whole pile of dead bugs on the doormat under the screen door and among them about 4 stink bugs. I will forever have Sevin in my home for use. Love it!
My maple trees were loaded with Lanternflies. In order to reach the high branches, I stood on a ladder and used the 32 oz bottle as the "soap" in my power washer, using the low pressure soap setting, The flies immediately dropped when hit by the spray. When they hit the ground they walked around a bit, more sluggish than usual. They started walking back toward the tree and started climbing back up, again more sluggish than usual. I was a bit disappointed. But then about 20 minutes later they started dropping off the tree. The end result was excellent. .
I purchased this product because a lot of my Facebook garden groups recommended this product for my large infestation of cucumber beetles and squash bugs. I applied it last night, and 24 hours later I went to my large vegetable garden to look around. I did not notice one bug flying in the air or on my plants. It did rain all day and it's still dreary. However, I'm saddened because the only dead bug which I saw was actually a honey bee on one of the leaves of my pumpkin. I'll know more tomorrow, and I'm praying for my pollinators that I'm not sending them to their death. I guess I'll see more tomorrow, but if you are looking to save the pollinators; this isn't the product, and sevin needs to put bees on their list of insects. If I would have reviewed sevin on line before use I would have used possibly a different product. Putting not to recommend to those who want to keep polinators yes for those who don't need them
Been using Sevin under various names for a few decades. Usually the powder in a panty hose in the garden and on the dig when I was a kid. But you talk about how a little goes a long way. Then say 4 ounces to a gallon of water. But you leave out the part of the equation. How much area does that cover? A 10' X 25' area. You can put 4oz in a quart or 10 gallons, but the area it covers determines just how concentrated it is. 250 square feet needs 4 ounces of product. Would you please make that information a little easier to find, and possibly in your advertising? Would be appreciated.
Buy from tractor supply. Ordered from Walmart 1 pt. Was more than 25 dollars. You get a quart for 18.00. Wish I hadn't ordered. Would have had to pay to return.
I have used this product since March of this year and have had mo luck with it. Aphids, white flies, and spider mites just keep coming in masses. Use it at least once a month as well as spot treatment. I have used the comcentrate as well as the dust. Does not even kill ants. Have spent upwards of $200 this year in hopes due to how many recommend it. I would highly appreciate my money back.
I mixed Sevin concentrate as directed: 4 fluid ounces per gallon of water. Sprayed the mixture on my zucchini plants, butternut squash plants, and on my pear tree. All the leaves on the pear tree turned black within 24 hours. My squash plants produced no fruit and slowly died. I also bought Sevin granular pesticide for my lawn. When I saw what Sevin did to my pear trees, I returned the bags of Sevin back to the store for a refund. Never to buy Sevin again!
Way back in the day, you spray Sevin on something, and the bugs were gone. They must have changed the formula, because now it is safe for gardens also, but the only downside, is it doesn't kill anything. We've even sprayed plants every day, then come home the next day, and the japanese beetles and other bugs are right back at it again eating our plants. There has to be some compromise between the highly toxic old Sevin product that actually worked, and this new product that does not do anything. Don't waste your money!
I used Liquid Sevin for years and always had great results. The last couple of Concentrate I have purchased are worthless and a water of money. Why did you have to ruin a great product. Make cheaper sell for more greed? Thank you for ruining s great product.
We bought some from our local co-op and when mixing the concentrate was very watery and didn't even have a smell. Sprayed on garden for beetles and it didn't even phase them. So we thought it was old so purchased at a local rural king and sprayed again and nothing. We triple dosed it on our potatoes for tater bugs and sprayed and it didn't even phase them. The bugs have literally about eat all our vegetables up this summer. We have never had a problem with Sevin and always used it but it's not working why so ever!!!!!!
