my tomato and pepper plants were being destroyed by cabbage worms. sevin spray killed all the worms on the plants. i continued to use the spray and had no further problems with the worms
We have used Sevin in our large garden for many years. It works well to control insects. Our most-attacked vegetables are green beans. Insects eat off large parts of the leaves, but we spray with Sevin, the insects die and the beans recover nicely and produce well.
I have two, one gallon bottles and both stopped spraying about half way down. Love the product but don't think I should have to buy a new spray bottle to use it.
I sprayed my plantation tonight because the day time hours have been very hot, above 80 and sunny. I followed every outlined step, I shook the bottle for about two minutes, turn the spray nossle on and sprayed from top to bottom of leave and steams. I will follow up with post since I read several negative comments...... I was surprised too because I always heard sevin dust was the best product on the shelves.
Used this product according to directions and within hours, every leaf and fruit it touched was discolored and dried out. My plants barely survived and it put me weeks behind in my garden. Don't know if it's a bad lot or what, but I'm surprised a product with such a fine reputation gave such unacceptable results
I brought home a beautiful blooming gardenia shaped like a tree and kept it in my living room for a few days so I could enjoy the scent of the blooms. I noticed it had some spider mites, so I followed the instructions on the bottle and sprayed. Within two days, all the leaves were on the floor and the spider mites were still there. I followed up with an insecticidal soap (which worked on the mites) and and praying there's enough life left in my plant for it to regrow.
This was my first experience with Sevin. I bought it because it was highly recommended by several rose bush websites to get rid of rose slugs. First, the sprayer clogged after only a few sprays. I transferred the product to another bottle and the sprayer clogged again. I didn't even finish spraying the entire plant. Days later, I noticed the leaves on my rose bush turning brown. After about a week, all the roses died. I'm very disappointed in this product, especially since it was a recommended.
Sprayer clogged after spraying first plant. I got frustrated after 15 minutes of trying to unclog and gave up. Not so "ready to use" if the intended bottle is incapable of straying more than one plant at a time. Useless if I can't get the product onto the plants without buying a secondary bottle for spraying.
I bought 2 32 oz bottles of the Sevin ready to use products because #1, it was highly recommended by several gardening web sites and #2, because my Daddy always used Sevin dust and he thought it was great. First bottle I sprayed about 6 sprays and it clogged plus the trigger broke while trying to spray it. I got out the second bottle and I got 2 sprays and it completely clogged. I pulled the spraying mechanism out of the bottle and the tube was filled with a stringy, snotty white substance that I pulled out but the sprayer was done so now I have 2 useless full bottles of Sevin and I threw my receipt away. You can keep your product.
I used it on my tomatoes to keep some tiny bugs off of it and it killed my plants. Bad product I wish I had read the reviews before I used it.
