I've used this product for years now and replace it every time I run out. I've used it for burns that have needed consistent attention, for stitches, for bad pimples, on bad cuts and all sorts of other topical injuries that need bandages and have cut, burnt or broken the skin. It works especially well if you clean the wound properly, and is a water based gel that dries quickly if left in an uncovered wound. However, if you cover it, especially with hydro colloidal bandages, will keep wounds moist as needed. For stuff like burns or pimples that can't have oily or ointment type stuff, this is perfect. Dab on a bit with a cotton swab or put on gauze and dab onto a pimple after proper cleaning with soap and water and it will keep it from getting worse and in my experience, will also help it go away in no time. Sometimes if used at bedtime will help it go away overnight. With bad burns or stitches, use with other wound care like saline, iodine or alcohol to sanitize after soap and water of able to use, add the gel with a clean swab or something like that, and cover as needed. I promise you will be amazed at how much it will help with anti microbial properties and the soothing feeling of the water gel, I certainly was. For an extra step of soothing feeling, pop in the fridge for a bit or store in a baggie in the fridge and use it cold on boo-boos, it works well to soothe stuff like cuts and other minor stuff. Works great as a protective layer against microbial activity and works well on most topical wounds like road rash, scrapes, cuts, burns, etc. and I even used on very gnarly burns, fire ant bites, my teenage son's big honker zit before prom (disappeared after using before bed, was gone by prom!) and my hubby's stitches on a broken finger. Leave it on, don't wipe it off. I even used on my dog's ear when she got an infected bug bite on the back of her doggy-ear, apparently she got a fire ant bite that got infected and we couldn't see or feel it with her dark, thick fur and big ears. We applied this gel after cleaning the area with a cotton swab and it worked perfectly to keep the area clean while the antibiotics we gave her orally for the infection did their job. Works a treat and keeps infection at bay while helping healing on all sorts of things, can be used with or without antibiotic ointment too. It's a must have at my house just like triple antibiotic ointment and hydrocortisone cream and we keep one in the emergency kit, one in the fridge and one in the first aid box. Love this stuff.
