Great purchase!! It’s the best trash can I’ve ever had. I love how after you step to open it, the lid slowly closes without a sound. Don’t hesitate to buy this one , especially if you’re on the fence. We have a dog, she ignores it, small kids ignore it at our house ..I haven’t been paid or given anything for saying this. I really do like this simple human garbage can so much!
This is the 2nd time that I have purchased this Garbage can it is worth the money. The color is a beautiful brown. which goes well with light colors like beidge in your kitchen .There is no smell from the garbage and it holds alot you must think why did she buy two. I thought I could find a better one, and yes it was pricey. I had to end up throwing out the new garbage can and going back to this one. I am satisfied.
This can is great in color and style for our kitchen. The only drawback is that the lock on the lid is a two-hand job. Our old can, you could lock and unlock with one hand. This one is really stiff. I'm hoping with enough use it will be a little easier. Although, a good lock is better than a bad lock.
Good trash can. We had this same one for over 10 years and it worked great before the lid wouldn't stay put. I like the soft open lid and the fact that it will stay open when manually opened. Very convenient. The bags also stay tight in there. I don't think we have had a single bag slip out in 10 years.
This trashcan is well worth the money if you have something to throw out and you don't wanna touch the lid. All you gotta do is push the little step thing on the bottom and it lifts it for you. It even has a little spacer so you don't have your lid too close to the wall.
this step can is just what we needed for our busy kitchen! extremely easy to use, has a wall bumper off of the back - allowing the lid to fully extend without hitting the wall, a locking lid, and they offer it in a color other than black (ordered the brown)! I don't think trash cans look wonderful to begin with But this can looks great in our space. grand slam!
This trashcan is a wonderful selection. First off, it is the Simplehuman brand so you know it's excellent quality and will look sleek. In fact, I even used a smaller stainless steel simplehuman model for my kids' diaper pail since it looked so nice to have out in the open. This matte black model with stainless steel accents is a lower-priced trash can of their lines, but I will keep buying this particular model as long as they make it (or similar) with that price point being a big selling factor for me. I believe this model runs around $54. Next, it holds a lot of trash. We are a family of 7 and use this as our kitchen trashcan and only have to take out the trash about 3 times per week. We buy the 30 gallon drawstring lawn trash bags and simply tie a knot on once side and stretch the remaining bag opening around the top of the trashcan. Then, if you're like us, there's usually extra items that need to go in the trash that didn't fit (so that's why you're changing the bag) and extra room is available in the lawn sized bag for the extra trash when you take the full bag of trash out of the trashcan and give it a little shake to settle the trash. Then if there's any extra room I use that opportunity to empty my bathroom trash cans into that bag of trash, or if not, I wait for the next one that will. This trash can is extremely sturdy. I have had to fuss at all of my kids - even my 20 year old ‼️ for using it as a step ladder to get to items in the pantry on the top shelves. The lid will pop off in some of these circumstances, but not often and not easily. It is built so tough that my kids have damaged the clips on the step lid where it fastens to the can itself but there's enough of the clips left on both sides to still clip on tight and still work well after 4 or so years. Don't forget that my 20 year old has used this as a step ladder and hasn't broken it, not that I recommend using it as a step ladder at all. Plus, the step lid is also a nice touch for when you're cooking and have dirty hands. It opens easily and has a well-built step mechanism that withstands constant use. Plus the kids like the fun function of the step lid, and if I'm being honest here, I do too! Finally, this trashcan is also a slim one in width and depth and fits great in my odd triangle shaped pantry. It is tall enough to hold a ton of trash and not require constantly taking the trash out while slim enough to fit well and also looks nice and chic. It also has this great handle on the back for carrying it if you need to move it. It is easy to clean and doesn't show fingerprints or dirt since it's matte black. I highly recommend this product and will keep buying simplehuman trashcans. In fact I just bought a replacement trashcan and then realized that the lid still wasn't broken after this latest climbing incident so my original trashcan is still alive and well.
Aesthetically it's stylish however $60 for a plastic trash can is not worth it. You are paying for the name. I had the 55L metal rose gold colored simplehuman trash can that served me well however the color faded after minor cleaning and it was hard to get gunk out of its crevices
I didn’t check to make sure there was an additional waste basket/liner inside this item like similar items I’ve bought have. There IS NOT A REMOVABLE Interior can/receptacle, which makes cleaning this trash can VERY AWKWARD. But due to me NOT confirming this prior to ordering it is 100% on me. The can is otherwise working out just fine. Having the bit of extra space IS a Great %26 regular 13 gallon garbage bags fit it perfectly. (No real need to buy the speciality %26 higher priced bags that are recommended.).
The lock is a good idea but the execution is poor and does not provide a seamless experience. It is too hard and frustrating to close and open. Also, after only a few months, the lid is coming off from the base every time it closes because the attachements are loose. With this brand and price, I thought I was buying a sturdy and quality trash. Very disappointing!
