I love this product. The insert tools works well, you just have to figure out the technique. If you gently pull the tool out, the plug comes with it. But if you yank the tool out, it releases the plug and the hole is patched. It comes with all the tools and plugs you need to repair over 8 tires. I have so far saved over $50 in tire repairs with this $8 tool.
Went to three tire stores, who told me the tire was irreparable and all three were rude while doing so. . Went to the local Ford Store to replace tires, and the service manager told me to plug it in myself, as he was not allowed to. He saved me a ton of money and made a customer for life. The kit was easy enough for an almost 80-year-old to handle. took 10 minutes and has been holding air for a month now.
it was my first time to use it I put the stuff on it and then go to put the worm in the hole and took too long doing it didn't know how hard it was going to be to push in it required more effort than I thought and the thing started swelling up and sticking to everything so I learned by missing that one up so the next one I did real fast and I stood up with my feet ready to push really hard second I got the gooey stuff on there and it's swell up and did perfect and fix the tire I love it so it was so easy once I learned how to go quick go quick don't play around with it and it's going to need to be pushing hard not sitting down trying to push it in one arm and one hand no I stood up both sides and both arms I'm going to pushing it and shove it in the hole and it went in there and it swell up and then they kind of mash it down you know in the little treads it was cool now I'm ready to plug everything
I watched a couple of videos and made the repair on my tire. Shoving the sticky patch stick into the tire was harder than I expected. Used a dead blow hammer to drive it in. But when I pulled the installer tool out, the plug stayed and has held pressure as expected.
Hey they got this one right! Simple and easy to use just follow the clear directions and your tire will be repaired. Although it is not recommended I used these once to plug a sidewall tire on a Lincoln Navigator ( NEVER TRY THIS!!!) and we did an emergency round trip from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Princeton, New Jersey. With no problems or leakage and the gash was about one half and inch and it HELD!!!! 💯🥂🙏🏽🤦🏾♂️
Every garage tool box (or car glove box!) should have one of these in it. They've been around forever, work perfectly and last forever. When I worked construction my truck tires would have 10 plugs in them and last 10,000 miles. Super easy to use, and this is the right size package!
I have use this type of tire repair (and this same kit) in the past for emergency repairs. I would usually, after making a repair, take the vehicle to a tire shop and have them do a permanent repair from the inside of the tire using a patch kit. However, I have done these type of tire repairs in the past and they have held up very good without other repairs to the tires. Also, I have friends and relatives that have repaired their tires with this type of repair kit as a permanent fix. None of them has said they have ever had a failure. I guess if you know what your doing and make a good repair with this kit it will last. I would not recommend using this as a permanent fix if you do extreme driving, like racing, high speeds driving, off road driving, or operate extreme heat or cold conditions Just my two cents. YMMV.
Picked up a screw in my tire, resulting in a slow leak. I was going to bring it to the mechanic for the usual $30 repair, but figured I'd give it a try myself. Didn't even need to remove the tire, as it was on the front and I was able to turn the steering wheel to give me better access. Pulled out the screw with a pair of pliers, reamed the hole, squeezed the included adhesive/lubricant on the plug, jammed it in the hole, refilled the tire. Done. All in all I think it took maybe five minutes. It's been a week or so, and it's holding air. Simple, old school technology that works as well today as it did 50 years ago.
Used on a car tire working in a garage. Initially the rasping tool was a little difficult to get into and through the hole. However, once you got it started it was easier to work the tool in and out. The plug tool was a different story. In order to push the plug through, with the sealer gel in the kit, couldn't be done by hand. I used a hammer to pound the tool and plug in with great difficulty. I was surprised that the tool was able to absorb the hammer blows. The plug did eventually go in. Tire is still holding air. Note: If you were to carry this in your car for an emergency fix, you would probably need a source of air. Once you pull the object that punctured the tire the air starts to come out fast. The time you rasp it you've probably will have lost most of the air in the tire.
this patch kit helps. not patching holes in a tire but it's just the right thickness to put under a table leg so the wobble stopped. I hope this company doesn't make marital baby proofing products as schools and prisons will be horribly overpopulated...... wait... if only we would have known sooner
