Admittedly, at first, I didn't like this can opener. It is different. It took opening 4 or 5 cans for me to realize how to use it properly. Now that I understand it, I LOVE it. I'll never go back to a traditional can opener. This gadget is small and takes up less room in my kitchen drawer. When opening a can, it (magically?) separates the top lip portion of the can, which creates a sort-of lid. There are no sharp edges, no weird cuts or jagged edges, etc. Also, since you don't cut down into the can, there is no mess. For new users... be patient. When you first use it, it will seem that the can is "travelling" backwards. Watch the indentation at the top of the can to know when it is "finished" opening the can. And, when it is finished, turn backwards slightly for it to release the can. Very easy, no mess. Love it.
this is by far the single BEST, Can Opening Device I Have EVER USED!!! THIS is the BEST PURCHASE I have Been Able to find in regard to a device for opening canned items anu6shape any size, even canned sodas and tuna, and cat food and canned vegetables all have been opened with this device, and I suggest everyone buy one, try it and you will agree, there is No Better item for opening a can by hand without any remaining sharpe edges, and for a pri c e und we r $15.00. You will NOT FIND A BETTER BUY!!!
Cuts the top off the can in a way that you can put in back on if you want. Does not leave sharp edges. The crank is nice and large making it easier to open the can. I would purchase it again.
I like that this can opener works every time. I will throughout all other types. The one thing that is not good is that if you have issues with you hands you may not be able to grip this well . Lid comes off smoothly. The edges aren't sharp. There is no cutting, just unseelling of the lids.
very easy to use. Every kitchen should have one of these to avoid unwanted cuts that can be very painful and long to heal. This helpful product makes opening cans safer. That sells itself. It is very useful for persons with limited movement in their hands/wrists, the elderly or anyone with eyesight or dexterity issues, and of course, just for avoiding the normal accidental cuts from the sharp edges that remain, with the use of the old type of can opener. Once you use it you'll never go back to the old standard. I bought them for all of my adult kids' kitchens as well.
the only difficult part about this opener is that you can't tell when you cut a full 360, so keep an eye on where you start. because even when I did cut a 360 all the way through the top didn't come off real easy I actually had to take the opener off and kind of pull the top off cuz it was such a clean cut. but still no sharp edges or anything
so easy to use>grips at first try. so nice to not get cut on can or lid any size> even a great price
Ease of use ,no sharp edges
it does cut through the can but my other version has a beak like thing that grabs on to the lid of the can to remove it . this one cuts through the can but gives you nothing to pop the lid off once it has been sliced through so the can is still sealed up with the lid in place on it . I couldn't lift it off and had to grab my other brand of can opener to lift the lid . if that has a magnet on it to lift the lid off it was not strong enough to do the job . I was using it on a regular can of corn.
would not open a can tried five different cans
