1) this model is 4 hanging files the extra space would help w/the over hang of the clips used 2 suspend the files.. 2) this is a BIG compliment 2 the manufacturer.. i bought 8 boxes...10 years ago..and guess what ~ still have them, they r still functional and in style.. I was jazzed when i figured out they were from the very same company..

Inexpensive but does not look inexpensive. Easy to put together. Holds an adequate amount of files. Stores easily in 12 x 12 cube storage. A decent quick fix to storing file folders / hanging file folders.

The files are smart, sleek looking, modern; you can snap them or unfold them in seconds. They hold 8.5 x 11 pendaflex folders and manila folders, but the top cover is really not wide enough to securely cover the whole file box. The black color with silver trim makes them unnoticeable in a small apartment corner. So glad I found these; much better than steel bulky file drawers.

I did not realize that these boxes were even available. I may order more as they are sturdy and attractive at the same time. I find the regular cardboard boxes get dented and smashed, the lids especially. Looking forward to having these for a long time.

I was skeptical when this arrived. It is folded flat, and you have to put it together. I took it out of the package and all it was, were the snaps to put it together, which makes it very sturdy. WHAT a great little invention. It is sturdy, great for hanging file folders and has a lid to keep out the dust. I am using it for flies I don't need often but have to keep. Great looking, neat and great organization tool. I am going to order 2 more....

I bought this because my husband has taken over the drawers in our file cabinet so I needed a place to store the files I need while working from home. This box is actually pretty attractive and fits neatly on our bookcase. It's pretty big so it can store a lot of files. Probably at least 3 reams of paper wide. I have hanging files in it and the top goes nicely on top of them. The top doesn't snap shut, just sits on top, so if it were to get knocked over, your files would most likely fall out. I like that it can be easily transported so if I need to take the files to a different room or to my office, I can easily just grab the box and go. It has nice handles on the sides as well to make it easier to carry. They seem pretty strong but I don't have a ton of files in it yet so it's not too heavy.

Although this box is made of cardboard, it is quite sturdy. The top edges of the box are covered with metal, to keep the sliding file folder hangers from damaging the cardboard. The snaps that hold the box together are steel and plenty strong. We have 50 hanging folders in it, with less than half of them used, and there's plenty of room left. I don't expect to disassemble the box, but it can be unsnapped and folded flat. It should be a good storage box, once the files are outdated.

This product is made of a shiny black material with nice silver handles, however it's not very sturdy. The cover is a little big I don't know if it's suppose to be like that. The snaps fall apart easily as well overall I just like the way it look not really the job.

I purchased this one because I had purchased the one for DVDs and loved it. This one is the same great quality but the lid doesn't fit. It is a half inch to big on both ends. Disappointed

Because this box is made of cardboard, the sides do not keep their dimension, sometimes expanding just enough for the hanging folders to unhook and sag. The snaps also do not stay snapped real well when moving the box, unless moved carefully. I also have trouble keeping it square enough to keep my hanging files intact when I try to carry it, and I'm generally a very careful person. One other MAJOR FLAW in the design...the slide rails that you hang the files on are at the top of the box, so if you use manilla file folders inside your hanging folders or if you attach the labels that come with the hanging file folders, then the lid will not fit the box. And if you push it on anyway, it will BEND the tabs on your manilla file folders. I usually sit the lid on as a dust cover anyway, but it sits crooked since some tabs stick up higher than others, so looks stupid. And you CANNOT stack another box on top of such a poorly designed mess. However, if you do NOT use any labels or if you do not use this box for files, the lid will fit well, the box will probably stay snapped and even stack finely if not overloaded, and it really is a VERY ATTRACTIVE BOX!
