Great flavor added to coffee.
Love this stuff. I broke up one star into little pieces and mixed it in my coffee filter with the coffee in my coffee maker. It had a great taste and I believe this brand to be a safe product. I did read that it is important when consuming star anise that it has to be safe for consumption. Must be all chinese stars. This brand is a product from China.

A Star shaped Pinecone.
Becareful playing with raw ingredients--make sure you are not allergic. Western commonly used as a garnish, perservative: Star Anise has many a of hibitions flavorful and medicinal uses. It can give a sweet-spicey flare to a treat or drink. Seeds rich in Omegas;Pods rich in antifungal,antitoxins. This fruit comes from a tree. You can use it in food or throw it in some milk to exstend shelf life. Many health benefits as well as flavoring!!
