I highly recommend this Argo Corn Starch,Argon gluten-free Corn Starch Tickener 16 oz,pure corn starch provides a nearly flavorless thickening agent, allowing natural flavors of your dishe to shine.Versatile usage, perfect for thickening pies, pudding, custards, cakes and gravies. convenient packaging, comes in a container designed to keep the contents fresh and make storage easy, gluten free and contain none of the major allergens making it suitable for a variety of dietary restrictions. This corn starch isn't just good for cooking with, it also makes an amazing science project! it's delivers on its promises! I'm very happy with my purchase!
This is a versatile product! I keep a canister on hand in the kitchen and it is super smooth for gravies and sauces. And I also keep a canister in the bathroom to use in place of talcum/baby powder. Not only does it cost less than the powder, it is better for your skin. And it is Argo brand that i use and trust. Try it and see and feel the difference.
This is amazing stuff. I use to make crispy french fries (double cook, etc). More importantly, when my deep fryer grease gets dirty with remains of frying fish, chicken, or whatever corn meal and or flour. I use a couple of spoons of starch in the hot grease and let it cook and it works like a magnet to cake up and makes the grease very clean. (google). It works and just dip out the cake it creates. Very good stuff!!
I use this for coating all sorts of fried food mixed half and half with flour with a little salt and pepper added for southern US recipes - think fried fish. I also use it alone in Asian dishes as a coating when frying or mixed with soy sauce, vinegar, and a little oil for velveting (tenderizing and marinating) meat when making things like hoisin beef (pictured below) and teriyaki dishes.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Gluten-Free Kitchen Staple! I absolutely love Argo Corn Starch! My wife eats gluten-free, so having a reliable product like this in our kitchen makes cooking and baking so much easier. She really enjoys it, and she says it helps her feel soft, comfortable, and good after eating meals made with it. It's gluten-free, has a neutral taste, and works great for thickening sauces, gravies, puddings, and other recipes. One of the biggest benefits for us is having an easy ingredient that gives her more options when preparing gluten-free meals without changing the flavor. Argo has definitely become a staple in our home. 5 stars all the way!
This old dude is rating this product as five star because it works! Argo has been around as long or, longer maybe than I. I remember seeing the old red and white cannister in the pantry and seeing it used by my mom in gravies, soups and other recipes. To be truthful this old, single guy still doesn't know what it's for other than a thickener! But, I used it, it works, I'm happy.
Felt the need for something so spicy it could go a lap on a racetrack. So made some homemade tteokbakki using this freezable cornstarch, let me just say, good to the last spoonful. Great amount of gluten with the mashed potatoes to give the sauce just a hint of thickness
Argo Corn Starch is such an amazing product with so many uses! I use it for cooking and baking, around the house for cleaning, and even for making slime with my students. It always works great, and the slime turns out smooth and fun every time. I love having one product that can be used for so many different things. It's affordable, reliable, and definitely a pantry staple in our home and classroom.
I've never used another brand. This is the same brand my whole family used when I was growing up. I'm thrilled with the round container, instead of the square one! And the container is much better than a box with a wax or parchment bag in it, or even a plastic bag. I wish they made refills for the containers instead of buying whole new containers. But, this one container lasts me forever, anyway.
Argo Cornstarch is one of those pantry staples I never let myself run out of. I use it constantly for homemade cooking, whether I'm making gravy, soups, sauces, stews, pie fillings, or stir-fry. It always gives me smooth, consistent results without any hassle. One of my favorite uses is coating chicken before frying because it creates a light, crispy texture that turns out delicious every time. It also thickens sauces quickly without leaving lumps when mixed correctly, making it a dependable ingredient for so many recipes. If you enjoy cooking from scratch, this is definitely something you'll want to keep on hand. The quality has always been reliable, a little goes a long way, and the container lasts quite a while. It's a simple ingredient that makes a big difference in the kitchen.
