McCormick Kosher Pure Anise Extract, 2.0 fl oz Box

Have yet to try this for "any type of cooking %26/or baking" , which was MAIN purpose when got it,tho it's been to hot %26 humid except for "No Bake cookies" . Although have mixed it with water and vinegar in spray bottle to help cut down on the vinegar smell.

We've been buying this Anise extract for decades to make Pizzelles. Previously, it was only available in 1 oz. bottles. Now that they have it in a 2 oz. bottle, the unit price is better. Very good quality extract. I don't know why the reviews section of stars for this item is showing vanilla, because it's not. It's Anise which is a licorice flavor that's used in baking many types of Italian cookies.

Stocking up to make holiday pizzelles. Good quality. Not cheap but never had any problems with McCormick spices.

I haven't bought this Brand of this particular Flavoring in a few years and it still lives up to its Name.

I make a certain cookie at Christmas time, and it requires Anise extract. This extract has a great flavor and little dab will do. Highly recommended.

I wasn't 100% sure what I was honestly going to make with this since it is something that I have never used before! But, I took the challenge and found an easy enough recipe for some cookies that looked so cute in the picture, and they reminded me of the frosted animal crackers! So, I buckled down and took my chances on this extract, and I am very surprised that my family enjoyed them! I will definitely make them again, and even venture out of my comfort zone and try other recipes with it!

I'm really happy with this pure anise extract. It has a rich, authentic anise flavor, and a little goes a long way. I've used it in baking and desserts, and it adds a wonderful depth of flavor without tasting artificial or overpowering. The quality is excellent, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys baking with anise. McCormick kindly gave me this Anise Extract for free so that I could review it. I plan to purchase more soon.

I received McCormick Pure Anise Extract free from BzzAgent to sample. When I first received the extract, I was nervous to try it because I am very picky about licorice flavored things. The smell threw me off a little because it was both medicinal and licorice scented. My daughter and I decided to try it in muffins. The first batch we made was too strong, so we made another batch using less of the extract. Less is definitely more. While I still wasn't a huge fan of licorice flavored muffins, my daughter and husband loved them. Definitely something I will keep around the house!

The instant I smelled this it reminded me of black licorice. It says on the box you can add it to coffee, pies and cakes. I just can't imagine liking anything I would add this to. I do love McCormick spices and extracts. They are always top notch quality. That's the only positive I could say about this product. I'm sure if you liked the taste and smell of black licorice you would love this, it's just not for me.
