Product came in intact. Working as per expectations, rathe exceeding. Nice color and finish. Trying different features per the manual. No complains so far.

Excellent product, lightweight, easy to use, intuitive app. I used them on a plane for 4 hours and it felt like I wasn't even wearing them. Great noise cancellation

Good headphones! Lighter than the previous generation and not and as bulky! Definitely improved👍🏻 Sound as well. One thing- to use all Sony headphones you need to download their Sony app. Only after this it will allow you to connect through the bluetooth

I'm an Apple fan, but I couldn't justify the price and weight of the AirPods Max. I used the WH-1000XM2 for many years, and the WH-1000XM5 are better in (almost) everything: great sound quality, noise cancellation, design, light weight, incredible battery life. The only downside for me compared to the older model is that they don't fold, therefore the case is very big and it's more inconvenient to travel with them.

I decided that it was time to upgrade to a really great set of wireless, circumoral headphones. Lots of great choices out there right now, but I narrowed my list down to the Sony® WH-1000XM5, or the Apple® Airpods Max. I tested both. Both sound fantastic, and worth the high price. But I went with Sony. >> Sound quality is 100% first class. All the frequencies are in perfect balance, and the difficult-to-get-right midrange is studio-perfect. >> Packed with peerless technology, e.g. the headphones know when they are on or off your head, and when off they can automatically pause whatever you're listening to. >> The active noise cancelling is absolutely superb. Press a button and all exterior sounds are gone. For me, this feature works better than physical ear plugs, believe it or not. >> Control the volume and other settings with gestures. Swipe up and down on the right-side cup for volume control, etc. You also have the option to use voice commands. >> Not 1, not 2 -- 8 microphones! So you can make calls with these babies with 100% confidence. This microphone abundance contributes much to the excellent active noise cancelling. A bit disappointed that Sony decided to go with a plastic frame with instead of metal with WH-1000XM5. The Airpods Max headphones have a steel frame. The plastic parts of my old (and legendary) Sony MDR V6 headphones actually started to crumble after a few years. Steel doesn't have that problem. Also disappointing: The Sony Headphone Connect app is for mobile devices only. I am a PC man. A PC version would have been optimal. NB1: As with all Apple products, headphone features work great with Apple software and hardware, and have certain drawbacks when used with PCs. Sony doesn't have that drawback, and I am a Windows / PC person. NB2: A full charge will give you 30 hours a play with the Sony WH-1000XM5. Apple Airpods Max = 20 hours with a full charge.

They don’t sound as good as they should for their price. I was very excited to get these headphones since they’ve been on sale and they did disappoint. They feel very flimsy and the noise cancellation could be far better. The sound quality isn’t up to par for how much you’re spending. Definitely one of those “for the logo” headphones.

While the headphones feel alright, they certainly get warm after wearing for a while. Additionally, the material used shows any sort of dust or fingerprints with ease. Another problem is that the sound, even after playing with EQ settings and trying different ones recommended online, didn't wow me. For $300 I'd expect more. It got better if it was louder, but then it was too loud. Finally, it's a slap in the face that a $300 headphones with quality microphones DON'T have a way to mute your microphone, even via a setting on the custom button, but if I pay an extra $150 for the gen 6 I could.

My package arrived with the box broken or torn open. Headphones that cost hundreds of dollars were clearly visible. There was minimal packing materials inside to protect the product. It’s hard to verify whether I even received a new item because of the condition of the shipment. It’s a miracle I got to the package in my lobby before someone grabbed the headphones straight out of the box. Yes, packages get damaged in transit, but quality packing is a huge part of deterring that. It’s also a choice to use FedEx. Just know that your stuff might not arrive correct. Might be safer to purchase from a different seller.

Excellent sound, very poor durability The sound quality and noise cancellation are excellent. When they work, they are among the best headphones I have ever used. Unfortunately, the build quality has been a huge disappointment. The hinge/plastic near the ear cup has broken multiple times during normal use. I have had to repair it with glue several times just to keep using them. Now the microphone/audio during calls is also starting to fail. For headphones in this price range, I expected them to last much longer. Great sound alone is not enough if the product keeps breaking. I would not recommend them unless Sony improves the durability of the hinge design.

These headphones are a massively overrated / overpriced pieces of junk, quite honestly. They are cheaply built with flimsy plastic and likely wouldn't last a few months of regular use. The foam inside the earcups aren't even cut to the proper size, making these "premium" headphones look like a budget knock off. Noise cancelation is a complete joke and barely works at all. Sony does not let you adjust the anc levels manually, so you're stuck with whatever it thinks you want to hear, which apparently is everything around you. These (literally) cannot even filter out a simple white noise machine or the sound of fans blowing. Yes, I turned off the motion based "adaptive" mode too. Touch controls are sporadic and occasionally trigger on their own. Sound quality is muddy and flat, even after EQ adjustments in the app. Speaking of which, these headphones and the accompanying app are incredibly intrusive, asking for accounts and permissions at just about every step in the setup process. Ive never seen headphones require so many permissions and location access. I am truly stumped as to how these are so highly reviewed, ive purchased no name brands from auction sites for a fifth of the price that performed way better than these. Even the packaging on these is cheap. Hands down the worst headphones purchase ive ever made, thank goodness for the generous return policy.
