Overall a good product for the price. The bed looks good once put together and was very easy to put together, it was only 8 pieces total. The only downside was that it came in a very awkward shaped box and it was very heavy (as expected). So it wasn't very easy to get in the room and out of the box by myself.
We purchased this bed for our 2 yr old son. He loves it. It is a great size for him. The price was great and he loves his big boy room. I didnt give the appearance 5 stars b/c the bed sits very low, which is great for my tot, but not so great for me to make up each morning.
One must realize when chosing to perchase this item, that this is simply a wooden platform to place a matress on. It's more of a hastle to put together than a standard metal bedframe. But..... I find it surprisingly sturdy for something made of particle board and it handles my "plus sized" 5'10" person very well. If you are still worried about duribility, I would reinforce it with woodglue. But I reiterate it is STURDY. All-in-all it is an inexpencive alturnitive to simply having a matress on the floor. :-)
Unfortunately this is all we could afford when upgrading my 5 year old to a twin size bed. The paint chips and crumbles somewhat easily. It was a little bit confusing to put together but you just have to slow down and pay attention. I put it together by myself. The chocolate color is almost black. Very dark. The platform part has the ugly particle board/natural wood on top so we had to pick up some paint. It wouldn't have mattered except the platform is a few inches bigger then the twin mattress we ordered. Like way bigger actually. That's the worst part. The standard twin size mattress isn't nearly as wide as this platform and about 2 inches shorter too. Make sure to use the rubber caps on the corners, they are sharp. It seems sturdy enough to last a few years until we can upgrade him to something a little better.
I purchased two beds for my boys and they love them these beds are a excellent price compared to what the other stores charge!!! Defenitely a bang for your buck
I wanted something ismple to get my teenage sons bed off the floor. This looked nice in the picture and was affordable. Sadly, it's not what I expected. It barely get's it off the floor and they didn't paint the top side of the bed where the mattress lays on it, so you can see the raw "wood" around the edges and corners and mattress. I guess the old saying is true, you get what you pay for.
I'm a college student and just moved into an apartment so I got my bedroom furniture from Walmart because of the free shipping. But I'm not thrilled with this bed. Not only was it hard to build (which I've built countless Ikea and some Target furniture without much trouble) but the pieces don't fit well together so at the end of my bed the wood doesn't line up evenly. Also the platform part of the bed doesn't have any finish on it. If you're looking for a cheap and easy way to furnish an apartment this will be just fine, but if you're thinking long term I wouldn't get it.
the bed should realistically be all black as pictured. one of the boards had the holes on the wrong side. not all of the boards are black. ie just bought a mattress and put it on top. doesnt cover the whole top of the bed so you can still see the cheap brown boarding they used instead of nice black all around. make sure your blanket goes over the sides if you get this
I purchased two beds for my grandsons in Knoxville, TN. Not what I expected. The photograph is a lot better than the actual item. The frame in the picture is nothing like the actual item. The bed we received is very low to the floor. Nothing like the item pictured. When I first received the picture, I thought it was the box that the bed arrived in. Very disappointing.
I have never had to write a negative review before but this product is simply not worth any price. It is made from the cheapest materials including the hardware. Most of the predrilled holes do not line up. When put together it looks so cheap. I was so unsatisfied with this product it was just easier to break it apart and sit it with my trash toat than to take it back apart and repackage it. I will be doing a lot more research before I buy another platform bed again.
