South Shore Smart Basics Contemporary 1-Drawer Nightstand with Storage, Black

It seems that the smaller these South Shore pieces get the more complex the build, but with good prep and patience you will be happy with the result. Surprisingly sturdy with smooth-operating drawer and good looking for the price. My only gripe is that it seems just a tad small, but it does it's intended job well. I'd compare this with the next biggest available for size and see if that might be a better option for you, but if you're mainly looking for low-cost, good quality and functionality this is definitely worth the money. South Shore is one of the brand names I now look for first after purchasing 2 bedroom pieces and being satisfied with both.

It took me about two hours to put together. quick and easy! I love the color. it goes perfectly with my bed.

I chose this unit to match the bed frame I purchased from South Shore. It is your typical pressed -wood-with-veneer-covering furniture unit, making it unnaturally heavy. The instructions were reasonably easy to follow--probably because I had just put together the bed frame which was a much more involved project. The instructions are pictures with no wording instructions. This can be frustrating because thee pictures don't match the parts exactly. Most of the holes are predrilled for ease of assembly. I gave the review less on "value" because I felt it should cost less for the lower quality "wood" and also because I had to do all the assembly! That said, I did a good job and it looks very nice. I gave the "meets expectations" less because the drawer has rubber washers on the glide that makes it open and close more slowly. I don't understand why and now that they're on, I can find no way to take them off without disassembling the entire unit.

Put these together pretty fast. The directions were easy to follow (however, I bought 2 dressers from this same company so I had experience after putting those together) The backs are a little flimsy but for the price you can't beat it!

Item came within a week of my order but when I went to put it together, a piece of the drawer was missing so I could not complete the build. I called the company for them to send the missing part, but as of today (10 days later) I'm still waiting for it to come. The item appears to be a quality piece for the price, just not happy about items you order, wait for to come, and then are missing pieces you have to wait for all over again.

Its was smaller than expect...came with a few scratches. (Luckily for me it was on the side less noticeable. The slides for the drawer are made out of plastic!! Yes plastic I've never seen that before and doubt it will hold up well.

This product looks good, but the construction leaves a little to be desired. The pre-cut holes causes the drawer slides to be very very tight once it is put together. The whole unit will move or almost flip over when you try to pull the drawer out. This product would be much better if the drawer slides were metal instead of completely plastic.

I bought this nightstand and a matching dresser for my sons bedroom. he is 4 years old so it's a perfect height for him, otherwise, this is super low compared to most furniture. Very cheaply made. And took forever to put together. I should have paid a little more and gotten a dresser sturdier and already put together. I mean, I got what I paid for.

Bought 3 sets of these dressers in a bundle. All were either damaged, missing parts, wrong colored pieces in the box and the front of 2 drawers came off when my son went to put his clothes away last night. Waste of money

This is a piece of work. Arrived later than scheduled, and took too long to assemble, with small broken pieces here and there. I will not purchase such items again.
