Spin Master Games, Pop Stream Board Game

This is a really fun game, it's really funny to take pictures and then it's you in the game (you need an iPad or tablet to play this game) I'd recommend it to anyone who loves movies! It's fun trivia! Very cheap and fast from Walmart too thank you!

This is a neat game idea, and a fun game to play. I was sent a free copy of this game to review (thanks, Spin Master & BzzAgent!), and sat down with three friends to try it out. Here's our experience. 1. Game Setup: Easy and actually really fun. You split into two teams and take selfies of each member (up to 4 players per team, or 8 total). Then you get to name your team using a combination of two silly words from a rather large set. We were Cheese Unicorn vs. Zombie Hamster. Fun times. 5 stars for actually managing to make the setup fun, and also the intro video was really easy to understand and taught us how to play in like three minutes. 2. Gameplay: Fun! We enjoyed the game, and overall the camera actually does a good job at picking up who buzzes in. We liked that you could play on the TV by syncing the iPad with the Apple TV, and we never saw a duplicate question in the several games we played. We didn't recognize all the movies, but we knew a bunch of them. I imagine the specific movie packs you can buy would help narrow the playing field a bit. As it is, I give play 4 stars for fun, with a possible five stars if you unlock more question sets. 3. Technical Issues: To be fair, we were playing on my iPad Mini which is basically a shrunken iPad 2 and thus not the most powerful tablet on the market. However, the app crashed several times, which impacted our enjoyment of the game. This keeps me from being able to rate it a five-star experience as our game was interrupted and progress lost. If you've got a more recent tablet, you'll probably be fine. Overall, this would be a great game for movie buffs. It's kind of like a movie-themed version of You Don't Know Jack. A parental note: several questions featured somewhat mature themes and included lots of movies kids probably won't have seen, so it's definitely more of an adult party game.

The game set up is the most annoying part about the game. We have a child proof case on our tablet that needed to be removed in order for the game isle to hold it properly. We didn't have any trouble aligning the game board as others have mentioned. The game wants to take each players picture prior to the start of the game which I found unnecessary. Once the game started, we thought it was really fun and a great concept. Most of the questions were known by at least 1 player on each team but the multiple choice helps. Overall, it is a fun game that can be played by 2-8 players. I received the game from BzzAgent but this review is my own.

My husband (a huge movie know-it-all) and I (not so much) played Pop Stream tonight and had a blast! We got the game for free to try out as a part of a BzzAgent campaign, and I really wasn't sure how fun it would be. Even though I'm not super movie savvy, I still really enjoyed playing because many questions are based off context clues from the clips- it didn't matter that I hadn't seen the whole movie! The only real issue we had was during the setup. It literally took us almost 10 minutes and lots of different configurations just to get the screen to line up with the board exactly the right way so it would move forward in the game. Now that we have that down, though, I'm sure we'll be playing again soon!

We received this game for free through BzzAgent. Up to 8 people could play this game, but only 2 can play as well. Movie trivia is something our entire family can enjoy, especially because we like to throw around movie quotes in everyday conversation. You have to download an app in order to play, which did not work well. We ended up going back to the menu on the app and read the electronic version of the directions. All of the players had to take a selfie to begin, which kind of freaked out my parents at first. The stand held the iPad just fine, However could have been easily knocked over. The game was fun to play for everyone. A drawback of the game was if the iPad or the game board was moved from the players trying to hit the button first, it would not always accept the answer until you realigned the board. Sometimes this would result in it timing out and the other team getting the answer. We also had an issue with the players being able to hit the button without getting a hand between the iPad and the game board which would cause an issue. Overall the game was really fun and everyone had a great time! We will definitely play it again.

This game has an awesome concept! The only requirements needed to play are 2-8 players and your own tablet. You get a board with buzzers (no batteries required) and each team is given 3 game pieces to wager scores or pass. What's awesome is that you align the game board with the camera of the tablet and that's how it knows what your wagering and who buzzed. The only downfall to this game is that once the board is out of alignment, the game pauses. It gets a bit frustrating when everyone is really into the game and the game constantly pauses when the board is moved out of alignment. We ended up ending the game early because we were all getting frustrated. But I do love the concept of this game and all the questions about movies are really good. The only negative to this game is the alignment issue. But above all, very fun!

So I received this game free from BzzAgent to play and review and I have to say this game is fun but it is difficult to set up. You need an app tp play this game that can be downloaded free. Make sure the room has really good lighting, we tried to set it up on my Galaxy Tab 2 and could not get it to align the board so we set it up on a Kindle Fire and we still had trouble so we changed rooms. This seemed to work but now were were playing on a small tablet. I wish we had switch back to the Galaxy Tab 2 so the screen would be bigger but oh well. The app worked well on both tablets and I have no complaint about the app but a few things to consider: 1. Make sure the lighting is good in the area you are in, it will not work otherwise. 2. Once the board is aligned be careful, if you hit it out of place you will have to realign the board before you can continue. 3. Bigger is better, the smaller screens are harder to see. 4. You don't have to push down the whole button on the board just push the front down and it should work. 5. Watch the "how to play video" it tells you a lot about the game. 6. There are a lot of older movies referenced here, it might not be the best game for younger people as they will not know a lot of the movies. This has the potential to be a great game if you have the patience to set it up.

Pretty fun, I know a lot more about movies than I thought I did! You download the app on your tablet and then play the game. Basically just a trivia game about movies and it uses the camera on your tablet to see what you are selecting on the game board. I only played this with one other person but you can make teams out of it too. I received this product for free in exchange for reviewing it. I did not find it difficult to set up, as others have posted, but maybe it's because I used a newer ipad.

This was surprisingly fun. I was given this game to review and I love movies, so I was hopeful it would be cool. It was a little confusing to set up, but I figured out that the lighting needs to be a certain way to line up the board with the iPad and once I figured that out, it was easy. I have only played about ten rounds (two games with five rounds each) but so far, no repeat questions...so hopefully that continues. It was definitely fun for a group or a couple who love movies.

I was lucky I had a tablet.
