Thought this would work on any bench stile seat and it will. BUT! It comes with safety brackets that need to be fastened (bolted) to the bench seat before you can use it. Thought this would be great when renting a small fishing boat somewhere. Just don't think the marina would appreciate me putting TEX Screw holes in there seats to mount the safety brackets.
We needed a good base for our folding first-mate boat seat next to the helm. The clamp straddles a counter above the galley and the seat screws into the swivel base. The product comes with screws and clasps that can be flush-mounted to the vertical surface of the cabinet, if necessary. The product is well-made and adjustable, with vinyl covers to protect the wood to which it is clamping.
I use this clamp over my live-well, since most all my fishing is catch and release, with a photo in-between sometimes. It fits the live-well the long way, from port to starboard, and the boat affords three people plenty of room to fish.
Yeah it's what I was looking for just kinda picked one out that looked good and was cheap. All and all I love it
Works great on bench seats. Well constructed.
My husband needed two jon boat seat clamps for his boat seats that needed to be extra wide like these. He had them installed in about an hour or less. They are sturdy and fit like a glove. Fantastic!
Nothing wrong with these Seat Clamps, but they are going to be hard to mount on the old fiberglass boat the I am working on. Way too much adjustment clamps for the boat. Will need to cut adjustment bolts to avoid accidentally cutting us with the bolts sticking out from under the seats. Good product, it just doesn't exactly fit my need. It will work, just needs a little extra work.
This unit is exactly what I've been looking for in order to attach a seat to my small, freshwater fishing boat. It was very difficult attaching the seat to the unit, but once it's done there is no need to go through the acrobatics again. I had zero idea what I was doing because there were NO INSTRUCTIONS included with the product. On that note, I winged it and finally figured it out but I am still not sure if there isn't a much easier way to attach a boat seat to this clamp. The clamp works well and is easy to attach and remove. Two safety bars are included and recommended but they are supposed to be screwed into the boat, I think, (again, no instructions) which would make it impossible to remove the seat once it is in place. I store my boat outside chained to a tree near a lake across the road. It is there year round. My goal was to have a seat I could remove, so I did not use the safety clamp feature. Several times the seat has slipped on me a little, and this could be dangerous, but knowing this can happen I am careful to tighten the clamp and check that it doesn't get loose while I'm out on the boat. The swivel feature works great! Overall I'm happy with my purchase, but it was very frustrating initially because of the lack of instructions for attaching a seat to the clamp.
Received clamps in one day. Attached seats and then attached to boat. Have gone out 3 times so far and as long as you check the wing nuts the seat clamp works great.
Arrived very late. Was as stated and seems to work fine so far.
