Works Perfectly!!!
Bought the magnetic antenna to make my Midland portable CB radio into a more versatile unit. Now I can use it in my Jeep or F-150, simply by switching the magnet antenna from vehicles. Inexpensive way to have a CB in multiple vehicles. Highly recommend both the 75-822 Portable CB Radio and the 18-2442 Magnetic Mount Antenna!!!

A must have for 75-822. I highly recommend.
Easy to set up and connect to mobile unit 75-822. Looking forward to installing on my car and seeing how the range is compared to the mobile unit built in antenna.

Great Value/ 100% Functional
This CB antenna was to replace a similar antenna that lasted three years. This one appears to have a better magnetic base. For the price you can not find a better value

SWR tuning help, please.
It looks good. I haven't used it yet because I am waiting to get an SWR meter, I need help tuning the antenna to the SWR of 1 as needed for optimum functioning.

Nice antenna, but it was recommended to go with a handheld I bought. It needs an adapter to work.

The antenna doesn't help reception
Unfortunately, the roof-mounted antenna does nothing to help the reception of my Midland 75822 Handheld CB Radio. It's probably not the fault of the antenna. The radio is the problem. It is not up to the task either as a hand-held unit or when it is powered from the car and connected to the roof-mounted antenna.

A nice paperweight
The reception you will get on this antenna is fine, which is great if you were hooking it up to a scanner. But for using it to transmit on a CB Radio it is pathetic. Its a miracle if you can get an SWR reading, its so high. I had to run a copper wire from the base spring to underneath the magnet to even get the SWR measurable. The "tunable" aspect of this antenna is laughable. your given maybe a fifth of an inch of play in the stinger tip to adjust it. You will fry your radio if you use this antenna long enough. With the SWR at 3.4 (kid you not, thats as low as it will get) the broadcast range at best was a little over a mile, but usually restricted to half a mile. The magnet holds very well which would be a good thing if it werent for the fact i was praying this thing would fly off my car. Never cheap out on a CB antenna, go get a good one. Not this one.
