great stud finder espcially for the price
this stud finder is awesome the few times ive used it though the biggest test will be later this year when i use it to figure out where to mount some new smoke alarms. highly recomend it though good price and a great item for that price

Not the one
If you're looking for a stud finder that finds the center of the stud save a few bucks and buy the Stanley magnetic stud finder.This one I'm rating has a sensor that finds the edge of stud.The sensor that beeps is all over the place.

Buy something else
Unusable. Just bought it today, put in a battery (sold separately) and it says to calibrate it before use. Instructions say when the red light turns off it's calibrated, but the red light was never ON in the first place. Very disappointed. Waste of time and gas and money.

MOSTLY FALSE READINGS on Metal studs
MOSTLY FALSE READINGS. ONLY after drilling can you be sure you found a stud ALSO measure - most are spaced 16 inches. I have metal studs
