Precision on demand

DjWonka December 6, 2020

I recently used my square to measure our and drill pilot holes on vanity drawers for new pulls. The square made the process painless. I am very pleased with the overall quality and usefulness of the tool. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The tool I didn't know I needed

RobD September 30, 2020

This is a handy multi-tool, I'm so glad I got it. It's strong and durable but best of all it made all my jobs a whole lot easier! I used it to check the hight of my table saw blade and made sure it was square. It makes 90 and 45-degree lines quick and easy to find and mark. It also makes quick work for checking the level of smaller jobs too. I even used it to check the depth of a cutout so I could match it exactly without any guessing. I would recommend this tool for everyone from the novice to the professional. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Solid piece of workmanship

gabe2000 October 15, 2020

The combination square is a solid piece of strong craftsmanship. Good adjustment with the screw. And if need includes a scriber & a bubble level. The metal ruler has equal measurement of both sides. Stanley's bold yellow color is a plus on the tool. I found the metal ruler to be a bit sharp, but not enough to cut anyone. A quality product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Another homerun from Stanley!

paulie22 October 15, 2020

Has all the features you would expect from a good square but what makes this particular tool stand out is the quality construction. Extremely well made and will last a lifetime. A great example of quality craftsmanship. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Quality tool with many uses!

insan0f1ex311 October 10, 2020

I LOVE this thing. It is handy for wood working and carpentry projects as well as setting up saw fences and stuff. It is sturdy and durable. I dropped a worm drive saw on it during the build in the photos. It survived without so much as a scratch. The set screw holds the ruler accurately and steadfastly while marking rip cuts. I pulled it across a trade size 2x12x8 without losing so much as 1/32" for the duration of the mark. The 12" ruler length is a handy measurement for reaching across most trade size lumber, as even a 2x12" is more like 11 1/4" in actual width. Even at a 45° angle, the ruler is sufficient to make the mark. Now, let's talk about tool setup. Table saw fences have been a notorious pain for me. I, like many of us builders, handymen, woodworkers, and weekend warriors, am guilty of trusting my saw's onboard measurements too much. The tail end of the blade and knife may be straight, but the fence can easily be out of square, resulting in sloppy cuts or dangerous saw binding. This tool can easily be set to the front end length and used to quickly spot inconsistency on the back end of the fence. It can also be used to square up band saw tables and scroll saw tables. It is intricately and accurately designed for precise work, yet rugged and tough enough to bear the Stanley name. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Nice Combination Square

Dustin October 16, 2020

I have been really impressed with this combination square so far. The handle is die cast, so it gives it a really sturdy feel in the hand. The sides seem to be true and square, so I can't really ask for anything else! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Smooth operator

Pancho83 October 20, 2020

I hang plywood backboards a lot and this is one handy tool. I use it to make my right angle cuts when my board is too tall or wide. It is very smooth when I adjust the length. My previous one was very tough to adjust and actually came apart. Also the color makes it easy to find in my tool bag. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Sturdy Square

TO597 October 22, 2020

I bought this about a month ago for doing layout for working with steel. it is nice to have a sturdy metal square that does not get beat up when tossed into a tool bag. The metal scribe has stayed sharp so far. The only complaint I have is the metal scribe was hard to unscrew and retighten, but after a week it loosened up. Even though I only gave 4 stars, I would recommend this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Nice Combination Square

bustedbicycle October 5, 2020

I have purchased many combination squares over the years because the blades rust when they get wet, making the markings difficult to impossible to read. This new tool looks good, though the test will be when I use it extensively during wet weather. I like the yellow color because it is easier to see amongst a thousand other tools. I appreciate that it is indexed for metric and imperial dimensions. My only complaint is that the blade slides jerkily when adjusting the length through the handle (shoulder & anvil).  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

12 in English/Metric Combination Square

David BB October 11, 2020

I bought this to replace an older square that was hard to read and I have used this square a several times now. The rule has nice clean marking with black shading and the matte finish is comfortable in one's hands. The square was in fact square when I checked it. My two issues with the square are that when I took the rule out to flip it I had a very hard time getting it back into the square. The pin was hard to work with compared to my old square. My second issue is not a big deal , but the rule did not slide well. I ended up putting a little furniture wax on it and it now slides very easily.
