I use this saw to cut out rough shapes of the tiny spoons I'm making. The whittling goes faster and more accurately after i do that. It's plenty strong for the job and it was a great price.
Very study feel and nice grip. Comes with extra blades which is great. Used for crown and trim with good, clean cut. I used with a guide which I think is very necessary to keep blade straight.
Purchased this item for use in my small work shop. I do woodworking, small crafts, bird houses and feeders. This item was received promptly and in good condition and good packaging. Good quality and should give good service for a long time.
Excellent product with extra blades, price was also excellent. Works just as it should!
best quality for the price only through Walmart!
So I had a guitar body almost completely cut out, but unfortunately no jigsaw on-hand to make some final cuts. Rather than spend $60 or $80 on another jigsaw, I deicided to try this coping saw (I had seen that cutting out a body could be achieved with a coping saw in a laborious fashion). So, with some hesitation, I tried this Stanley Fatmax. To my elation, the saw cut through 1.5" poplar and mahogany with ease. Granted, the edges did need to be shaped with a belt sander afterward, but I maintained a fairly straight cut. The saw is sharp and it cuts through the material surprisingly fast. I might even entertain cutting an entire body in the future with this thing.
I do renovating of houses and need good tools. This little coping saw is very well made and works the way it should. The price was great and it came with extra blades.
blade could use more curf
i hadn't done any coping for awhile, with the fat max it didn't take long to get back into the groove doing crown molding
Angle is not fixed very tightly but it works well enough for small projects. Should outlast the four blades it comes with. Which won't help because by then, no more replacement blades will ba available... ;-)
